Photographer’s Note
Another sunny day at beautiful Porto's Ribeira.
From Wikipedia:
The Dom Luís 1st Bridge is an arch bridge that spans the Douro River between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. At the time of construction its span of 172 m was the longest of its type in the world.
The Government held a competition for the construction of a metallic bridge on the Douro River on a site that was adjacent to an existing bridge and would replace it. Teófilo Seyrig had already engineered the D. Maria Pia Bridge project, whilst working as a partner of Eiffel. He now took sole responsibility for the new, major Luis 1st Bridge. The construction was begun in 1881 and the bridge opened on 1886-10-31.
Total length 385.25 m
Weight 3045 tons
The arch measures 172 m in length and 44.6 m in height

Hello Denis!
This is one of those bridges that are photographed a lot, but also, one of those that's never too much to be seen, specially in good photographs like this one! Well-chosen viewpoint, excellent sharpness and brightness, natural and beautiful colors! Everything just enhances the beauty of the bridge and of the whole place itself! I really like it!
TFS - Congratulations!
Warmest regards,
Neyvan

Hi Denis,
This is a grandioso view over a fabulous structure.
I would love to see this bridge in real! The design doesn't have anything to do with the beautiful roofs of the city, but I think it still work. These public constructions from the end of the 19th century are so bold and "mecano toy" look-alike. Very nice view of the bridge and of the area. Very impressive.
Cheers!

Hi Denis, nice to see a photograph and at the same time learn new things that the master built. a very interesting structure to think it was built late in the 19th century. Thanks for sharing...Alex

This is a beautiful view of the bridge with the old city behind. I particularly like the way you managed the end of the bridge near to the wall of the old castle. It is also very good to see the funicular line going up the hill on the edge of the houses (right handside corner). The composition with the beautiful houses in the foreground is excellent and the overall sharpness is superb. Well done.
Only a little note, I would not call it an Eiffel Bridge. May be an “Eiffel school bridge” would be more appropriate.

Hi Denis,
It's a famous bridge, but this high angle is new for me. Big steel arch and two decks far away from each other make this special, and even more considering it's age. Strong diagonal angle.
