Photographer’s Note
Here is another one of Obidos.
I am posting it not much because I find it so good, but because I wanted to show a diferent panoramique view of this old small town.
If you are curious about the place, I suggest you give a look at its TE gallery, where you can find plenty of good photos of the town.
Óbidos has about 3000 inhabitants, is located 100 Km North of Lisboa, on the top of a hill not far from the sea. Almost every house is within a medieval fortress. The time seems to have almost stopped around here at least one or two centuries ago.
The name of the town derives from the Latin term oppidum, meaning "citadel", or "fortified city". The area was taken from the Moors (Arabs and/or Berber with origins in North West Africa) in 1148.

Hello Jose,
Another great photo from you of Obidos. This point of view is differnt - it shows the clay tile roofs, clothes hanging out to dry, the wall surrounding the castle and the outer houses of Obidos beyond the castle wall. You photo makes me feel like I am back there again. Keep up the good work Jose, and keep the photos coming!
Overall rating: Excellent-----

Hi Jose,
I think I can follow your note and I think it is senseful to post it. Beauty is one of the criteria, not the most important one. After all these shots from you and others of this nice town it is fine to have a bit larger view also including parts of the landscape. The beauty of the town is also visible again.
Excellent light and DOF.
Fine to see you are back.
Regards Ulf

Good morning Jose -
This a well crafted image in regards to exposure, DOF, sharpness, and image quality. It is so much like your other image of Obidos but without the fantastic colors. I am just trying to get a handle on the composition and I am not sure what the subject is. I know you wanted to just show a panorama of the village, the surrounding countryside, and the wall surrounding it but IMO it is not working. It does has some interesting elements but it's just leaving me flat. Like I said, will crafted technically but, maybe it's just me this morning, something is not working.
Thank you for sharing
John
PS - please don't take offense it's not meant to be a bad review.

Another shot of the same wall with a different perspective. I think I like this one better because it shows more of the roofs. This aerial view, more likely taken from a tower, is good because it bypasses the entire lower part of the town to concentrate on a deeper view of the area. The depth of field and the fine details make this composition very attractive. Nice work Jose :-)

Olá José,
Nesta gosto de ver a muralha separando a vila das outras povoações lá ao fundo. Interessante ponto de vista.
Um abraço,
F
