Photographer’s Note

Sabugal es una ciudad portuguesa, perteneciente al Distrito de Guarda, a la Región Centro y a la subregión de Beira Interior Norte, con cerca de 2.800 habitantes.

Fue elevada a ciudad en 9 de diciembre de 2004. Fue señor de ella Sancho Pérez, hijo del infante don Pedro y nieto del Rey don Alfonso X el Sabio.

El castillo de Sabugal se levanta en la parte oeste de la población del mismo nombre, sobre una elevación del terreno que le permite controlar el curso del río Cõa.

Su forma es un cuadrángulo irregular, con potentes torres en tres de sus esquinas, y una cuarta en mitad de la cortina situada al sur. Las murallas, de elevada altura y aspecto imponente, están rodeadas por una falsabraga en forma de pentágono irregular, de donde le proviene el apelativo de Las Cinco Esquinas. En todo su contorno dispone de adarve, y en su parapeto se abren troneras de cruz y orbe. Cuenta con una puerta ojival situada en la cortina sur. En cada esquina de la cortina oeste se observan dos pequeños cubos circulares. Cerca del situado en el ángulo suroeste se abre un postigo ojival.

Sabugal is a Portuguese city district of Guarda, in the Central Region and Subregion Beira Interior Norte, with about 2,800 inhabitants.

Very nice and impressive castle that appeals to the lover of all things medieval in me, the weather was cloudy but you got here that essential light to warm the structures, enlarging the view to include the city around was also a good idea to show how it dominates the place.

Hallo Charo. Auch das heutige Photo zeigt die gewohnte Qualität. Besonders interessant empfinde ich den Kontrast zwischen den kleinen Häusern und der wuchtigen Burganlage. Wow, this is superb view of castle with such a fine POV.

Good depth tos how the slope of houses surrounding the castle. Very nice light control to get the sharp detail. Nice to see the WS to get a different perspective.

Hola amiga Charo,
el cielo cargado de nubes tiene un buen papel en esta escena, amenazando tormenta, o después de ella, atendiendo el sol que ilumina este bonito pueblo y su castillo. Esto crea un buen juego de claros y oscuros sobre los elementos, sobre todo la arquitectura medieval del castillo rodeada de casas más sencillas y tradicionales.
El conjunto es armónico y elegante, me gusta. Los WS complementan muy bien el trabajo, especialmente el de la torre con los tonos dorados del sol, y la nota es muy informativa.

Hola Charo,
Aun no miré con atención a mis fotos de aquí. Me gustaría que la mía desde este PdV fuera tan buena como esta tuya, así como las de los WS's. Aprovechaste muy bien la combinación de la luz de sol poniente con la nube escura arriba, que realza la posición altiva del castillo.
Cualquier de los WS's merecería un poste principal, aunque que me parezca que el del contraluz presenta una ligera distorsión de barril y de perspectiva.
