Photographer's Note

This is an "alminha", one of many that can still be found in this mountain.
Alminhas are little shrines usually placed along the roads, where passers stop for a while, to pray for the souls and the dead people. There are several types and it's frequent to find candles there.
I found this one in the village I've shown on the first photo. It's on the wall of an old schist house in ruins and it's a very simple painting, so full of meaning but painted in a very popular style. This is one of those details I just love to find in such remote places.
