Coimbra at sunset - IV Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is another photo of the new walking bridge of Coimbra that I've taken last year. It's called Pedro&Inês, it was planned by Cecil Balmond and it makes the connection between the Green Park and the left bank of the Mondego River. By the end of the day and especially at weekends there are lots of families walking in this area. I guess it's one of the nicest areas in Coimbra at this moment.

No momento que coloquei mais uma foto reparei na foto de Coimbra. Há muito tempo que não visito Coimbra apesar de ter ido mais vezes para a zona de Arganil. Sem dúvida que quando voltar a Coimbra poderei encontrar uma grande diferença. Até é uma viagem que se faz bem de Alfa. Sempre que posso gosto de deixar o automóvel sossegado. Isto é não justifica muito automóvel nesta cidade, assim como noutras também. Gosto de ver o rio Mondego e de verão vê-se bonitas práias fluviais. Eu vivi numa aldeia na margem do rio Tejo e lá vivi momentos aos quais não há repetição. Despeço-me com amizade. Domingos

"Agora é tarde, Inês é morta"... este caso de amor ficou eternizado na frase e agora nesta ponte - linda e com vitrais! A tua imagem tem uma composição muito harmoniosa. A luz e as cores suaves parecem querer atenuar a história.

Hello Ana,

So this is Coimbra, the seat of the well known ancient university. This is a graceful and slender bridge you've presented, with the vegetation, "cat's tails," giving some measure of depth to the picture. The presence of the strollers on the bridge is of primary value, lending the scene some scale, as well as the human interest aspect.

A gorgeous photo and I really like the soft sunlight here which creates a lovely mood as well, along with the calm water, that reflects the bridge so nicely too. Thanks a lot for sharing this view over the water and the nice view of the city framed by the bridge.

Hello Ana,
beautiful view! Interesting bridge which is so lovely reflected in the water. In general, I admire the quiet well-balanced colours of the photo.
I also like the pastel shades of this image. The warm colours of the grass in the foreground are very pleasant for the eyes and they match so well the colouts of the distant buildings standing next to another bridge.
Very good composition! The people waslking along the bridge is a bonus for the photo :)

Olá Ana,
Uma linda vista de fim de tarde, com uma luz maravilhosa e impressionantemente bem enquadrada - a ponte em 1º plano (ou 2º, considerando que as plantas estão à frente) e o seu reflexo consegue abarcar tudo, desde S.Clara à esquerda até ao Astoria no extremo direito. Tb. gosto imenso da presença das pessoas e da vegetação em primeiro plano.

An interesting bridge with its soft pink/green triangles and the reflection captured in the water. I also appreciate the golden tones in FG and bg and the pleasant afternoon light. A good depth too!

Está bem bonita, Anabela. Pedro e Inês é um nome divertido. Provavelmente será um local onde muitos casais irão começar a namorar agora :))) Gosto da simplicidade da imagem e claro da presença das pessoas na ponte. Este 1º plano também ficou muito bem.

Olá Ana,

Gosto muito desta foto. Ficou excelente o primeiro plano com aquelas plantas em crescendo e que nos convida a entrar na foto que nos mostra uma ponte que eu acho interessante não só do ponto de vista arquitéctónico mas também do nome Pedro e Inês como que a ponte em termos figurativos unisse duas almas e toda uma vida corresse por debaixo dela.

beautiful and original image of this bridge that with its colors seems a rainbow in the sky. The image pleasantly degrades with the other bridge and the houses in the background. Amazing sharpness, thanks to which can admire also the smallest details of the photo. Very beautiful.

Exelent picture I like it the whole piocture, the scene, the reflex in the water, the nature, the sky and the pople pasing by. At the end of this river there is a buiding this is a castle?
