Photographer’s Note

City of Coimbra from my window. On the top: University of Coimbra (Coimbra Universidade). One of the oldest universities in Europe, founded in Lisbon in 1290 and then transferred permanently to Coimbra in 1537 when it was installed in the Royal Palace. The building was only acquired by the University in 1597 when Portugal was under the rule of Philip II of Spain, the first of Portugal.

Hi Mikolaj,
Your view was beautiful onto the city your window. Very much like the different coloured buildings, the university's building on top of the mountain imposing and spectacular. The colours and lights are picturesque. Great view, congratulations. Have a nice week!

Hello Mikolaj,
A fine cityscape. I like the point of view and the juxtaposition of the different houses on the diagonals, which the eye follows quite naturally to reach the church tower. The colours look splendid under a lovely blue sky. Very good clarity. Have a Merry Christmas!

Hello Mikolaj,
Beautiful image of civil architecture and official. The pure sky is very pleasant, by the current winter. I like the point of view chosen, which describes the lines of successive constructions which let guess streets. Excellent and pleasant image.

houses are beautifuly lined and composed.
each house looks having each unique characteristic,
each wall with windows looks quite like different face.
they see their individual direction, one is smiling and the other is putting on airs,,,very interesting.

Nice one, Mikolaj, you used well all the verticals and diagonals in the frame resulting in nice superposition of the houses.

Great picture showing a magnificent urban area. The composition is really good, the only slight distraction is the construction crane on the left but there's nothing one can do about that. The colors are vivid but not too strong and the level of sharpness is just right as well.

Hello Mikolaj,
Wonderful cityscape pattern you have selected here, in deep, saturated colors and great light. The perspective was very effective in keeping all attention to the many lines and textures of these typical buildings, with a nice focal point in the tower on the top, except for the crane on the left, which can be easily removed.
