Photographer’s Note

Portekiz'in en ücra yerlerinden birinde yer almasına rağmen, dev granit kayalar arasına sıkışmış antik evleriyle Monsanto gerçekten görülmeye değer bir köy. Görüntüsü asırlar boyu neredeyse hiç değişmemiş ve belki de bu yüzden 1938 yılında "En Portekizli Portekiz Köyü" sıfatına lâyık görülmüş. İnsan yerleşimi Palaeolitik çağa kadar dayanıyor. Denizden yüksekliği 758 metre ve mimari yapı ülkenin diğer bölgelerinden daha farklı.

Despite being located in a remote part of Portugal, Monsanto is a magnificiant village worth to see with its ancient houses squeezed between the huge granit rocks. It's appearance hasn't changed for centuries and maybe for that reason it was selected as the "Most Portuguese Village in Portugal", in 1938. The human presence here dates back to the Palaeolithic Era. Monsanto is 758 metres high from the sea level and the architecture is quite different than the other parts of the country.

böyle bir köyde yaşamayı kim istemez... ama keşke uzaktan da olsa denizi görseydi... açı ve kompozisyon güzel... ama ışık ve renkler daha iyi olabilirdi sanki... selamlar tolga...

Hello Tolga,
You've chosen a good high POV for a beautiful view over the roofs of the houses built on different levels on the hill together with a good view over the surrounding countryside.
The textures of the roofs and the walls composed of big stones are beautiful.
I think I've seen here other pictures of this village. With big rocks between the houses ? Is that possible ?

That's a perfect and wonderful picture!
Sharpness and depth of field are excellent! Exposure is outstanding! Colors are naturally beautiful! The high pov was a great choice and the composition was very well elaborated! Thus, the results couldn't be different than that: such a fabulous image, that really pleases, not only my eyes, but my whole soul!

Ne kadar güzel bir yerleşim yeri, bizim Cumalıkızık havası var, mimari hiç benzemese de. Yani çok eski bir köy olmaları benziyor galiba, ben o etkiyi aldım işte. Onlar da düzlük yerleri bırakıp, yokuşların tepelerin üstüne kurmuşlar işte evlerini. WS'dakilerdekadraj daha hoş, basamaklı sokakları da görünüyor, akşam saati nefis. Elinize sağlık. Turistik mi? Hafta sonu tatili için mi gidilir buraya? Size uzak mı? Selamlar.

Hello Tolga,

The textures created by terracotta roof tiles are one of my favorites every time, especially their contrasts with stone or white facades, even any old facades. Your skilfully selected point of view added them all together in perfect angle. I liked also endless landscape under wonderfully cloudy sky too. On the other post, it was the big rock that catch our attention, here it's the geometric pattern of the roofs and stone walls, half chaotic, half organized. The guarding his cattle.
It's hard to decide which one of the 3 is the best one.
