"The Peneda-Gerês National Park (Portuguese: Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês), also known simply as Gerês, is the only national park in Portugal (although many Natural Parks, Protected Landscapes and Reserves exist across the nation). It is located in the Norte region, in the northwest of Portugal.

The park was created on May 8, 1971 due to its national and international scientific interest, with the aim to protect the soil, water, flora, fauna, and landscape, while preserving its value to the existent human and natural resources. Education and tourism are also goals of the park."

This waterfall was across a cannyon, and I couldn't manage to get as close as I wanted (I'll try next time). Took a couple of shots with a tele, but liked this one best, because I think this wonderfull tree hanging from the rocks got me the best frame I could get.

Water-cascades structure this picture; the first plan gives the depth to the whole; every element has its place; this photo pleases me well.

Great combination of the waterfall and the tree branch. The way the tree comes across the bottom and then up the side of the frame is almost like it was made for this - a natural picture frame. As you say, the waterfall is a bit far away, but the tree makes such a wonderful frame that it's impossible to resist. Great work!

Joao,
Great shot of this nice waterfall. You have framed the waterfall nicely with the trees. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.
TFS,
Asa

Hi Joao, I really like how you framed the shot with the tree. It certainly looks like a fantastic location and the cascading stream looks great. I don't think the light was best here for you but I would imagine under warm tones of the sun and a heavy fall of rain this would be amazing. Well done.
