There is a traditional form of Bullfighting on the north of Portugal called "Chega de Bois". When you put two "Barrosão" bulls at the same place (on this case a soccer field) the result is that they will discuss in a "pleasant" manner which one of them will rule the place.
There's no way they will peacefully share the area: they will have to have a fight where the winner takes it all. But it doesn't end here: the looser will humbly and definitely accept his condition. Don't worry: their fight rarely causes any serious consequences.
Sometimes nature is strange. Rich, to be more precise.
A friend once showed me a rather pessimistic view of the human kind, which I do not agree, when he stated that the natural state of the society is being always under sheer violence, just like two bulls that face one another.
I agree that, yes, we do have a primal tendency that pushes us to dominate. But fortunately, there's something in us, humans, that enables us to reach to the conclusion that maybe a fight is not the best option -that's Reason - something that permits you not to let go that punch that your fist would be delighted to apply - and that's liberty.
Even economy has reached to the conclusion that in a fight everyone loses. One of the conclusions of the "Game Theory" developed by economy gurus is that, in the long run, crime doesn't pay: If you're unfair in business, you will suffer from it sooner or later.
After all, litigation is not as reasonable as it would seem: it's just bull business.

Good decisive moment

Nivaldo

The moment of capture is perfect here. The cropping and composition are very good too. Your note was very intelligent as well, and I enjoyed reading it. Good job.

Great note! Doesn't mean I think your picture isn't great - it's great as well - but your note really builds it up. Nice one. The building behind it is just unreal. You wouldn't imagine this on a football field somewhere next to an office block, school or suburbian living uglyness. Great.
Have a good weekend! Dennis

Bom trabalho, Cumprimentos,

Lols! Really strange to see these bull fighting with a background that looks so much like an appartement building with people quietly looking from their window...
I like your timing here, very good with the two "beasts" facing each other, and the dust coming from their "activity" (!).
Bull business! Love it! :))

Undoubtely your best photo.
i like the comment and the critique moment that you caught.
There are several elemnts that enrich this photo:
1) The dust creates a realy sense of movement
2) The two men expressions and the other people who are looking by the window!
3)The horizontal lines of the buildings that takes for the real fight in the "arena".

A great title, Francisco, for this most unusual photograph. It is quite surreal to see these bulls facing each other off in front of what looks like an apartment building. The capture of the dust and those superbly sharp horns are the two best elements of this image. I like also the very relaxed stance of the man inside the fence - I think I would rather be on the other side! Cheers . . . David
