Photographer’s Note

Sanctuary Bom Jesus do Monte close to the city of Braga. Sanctuary stands 400 metres above see level, and its well designed, sober neo-cassical lines are universally admired. At the top of stairway, in front of the fine Church of Bom Jesus, are eight imposing statues of people who took part in the condemnation of Jesus, Annas, Caiaphas, Herod and Pilate. The church itself, completed in 1811, is the work of the famous Braga architect Carlos Amarante.

Hello Mikolaj,
A well composed shot, which benefits much from the upwards point of view, with all those steps. I like also the presence of the intricate tiling in the foreground. Good colours and sharpness.

notevole DOF grazie al formato verticale che ti ha permesso di inserire la piazzetta prima della scalinata che sale alla chiesa.

widze ze Twoja wycieczka po Portugalii byla wyczerpujaca, wszystkie najciekawsze miejsca. Ja niestety chyba nie bede mial az tyle czasu i tu np nie dotre.
Pieknie zaprezentowales tutaj to miejsce. Wlaczenie tej mozaiki bardzo dodaje uroku. Wspaniala praca.

Very impressive building starting with the bottom mosaic. The symmetric stairs up to the church is also very good. The cars could have been cloned out to make an improvement!

cześć Mikołaj, Fajny POV znalazłeś. Miałeś szczęście, ze była taka pogoda, a poza tym nie plątały sie rózne wycieczki. Ja tez sie przymierzałam do takiego zdjęcia, ale ciągle sie ktos pałętał (np. mój mąż:)). Fajny wzorek u dołu. Świetne kolorki, choc tyle lat upłynęło. Ile razy byłes w Portugalii? Pozdrawiam

Idzie się i idzie do tej świątyni. I to nie dla tego, że schodów dużo, tylko bardzo fotogeniczna jest. Każdy zakręt, każda fontanna, każda figurka.
Ładne ujęcie a kto nie był niech żałuje! :-)

Construction interessante et intelligente d'image Mikolaj, une contre plongée qui mène le regard vers cette cage d'escalier surmontée de ce sanctuaire.
