Hi TE Friends

This is the famous boat of Aveiro - Moliceiro.
I did this picture in a rainy day.

In the Workshop, I post another picture of Moliceiro boat.

Which of these pictures do you prefere ?

Known as the Venice of Portugal, Aveiro is surrounded by salt-flats, beaches and lagoons and dominated by the Central Canal running through town. Once a big sea port, Aveiro lies in a region of valleys cut by mountains and fertile lagoon plains.
The city of Aveiro is crossed by canals, which give it quite an individual character, and in the old quarter tourists can see the quaint whitewashed houses of the fishermen and visit, early in the morning, the Mercado do Peixe, an auction of the fish caught during the night. Of all the boats seen in the area, the moliceiro is the most elegant, being perfectly lined, painted with bright colours and with often ingenious and humorous decorations.
The fine beach of São Jacinto lies close to woodland and the São Jacinto Dunes Natural Reserve, with well preserved dunes and varied fauna and flora.

I have alreday view couple picture from Aveiro and i cane say you that he is realy Venice of Portugal ,but it is not so famous like Venice ,but that make Aveiro not lees beautifuler than he is
Aveiro is very nice city with nice canals and bridges

Almost every old city have a little bit Venice.

A different and original view of Aveiro and finally a picture of a typical boat with people in it.

Eu prefiro... as duas, como diz minha filha. No WS pode-se ver os detalhes do barco que é super bonito . O canal é estreito , mas com muito charme. Gostei da mulher em cima da ponte e sua sombrinha.

A good decisive moment shot, with the boat crowded with tourists, having just cleared the attractive stone bridge, which makes a fine focal point. Superb colour & sharpness. Parabens!

I like the title and you comparison with Venice for this scenery of the canal, bridge and boat. Of course the color and green is different here and this is a style of its own.

Very well captured compact scene of much sharp detail of this landscape. Good work

It looks like Eskişehir (Turkey) rather than Venice Aires :) But lucky you, the weather was rainy but at the same time you have plenty of sun. The moving boat and the man with the blue umbrealla on the bridge makes your composition a lovely one. I think it is a must to visit Aveiro when I go to Porto next time.

I prefer this one because the boat passing under the arched bridge gives just the illusion of being Venice, but anyway it's a fine photo the one in the ws too.
Bright and sunny atmosphere even if it was raining, good sense of depth and fine reflections on the canal.

Olá Aires, bonita foto dos Moliceiros de Aveiro. A senhora por cima da ponte também ficou muito interessante. A escolha da fotografia é difícil, já que os cenários são diferentes, mas acho que prefiro esta ao do workshop já que esta mostra o moliceiro a andar pelos canais.
Abraço e resto de bom fds amigo.
Acho que o workshop do Roland também ficou bem já que a fotografia fica com um pouco menos escura.

Both images are nice but I think I prefer this one. Well, after seeing Venice lately I think it is not Venice :)) but stiil it is a charming beautiful city and moliceiros are very picturesque.

as I see a lot of cities all around the world have a district that call it Venice or small Venice.It's a nice shot with the boat to stroll in the canals of the city and the lady with the blue umbrella to be an eye catcher of the scene.Well done.

Salut Aires,
Venise au Portugal, c'est très jolie cette photo bien composée. Il doit être intéressant de se promener sur ce canal qui traverse la ville. Le pont ornée de fleurs est magnifique et le personnage au parapluie ajoute une touche de couleur à la photo. J'aime beaucoup le WS aussi.

Bela composição, parece mesmo com a Veneza italiana (conheço só por fotos). Gosto muito da inclusão daquela senhora com a "sombrinha" azul. Ficou um charme só! Gosto das duas fotos, mas prefiro esta.

so I just uploaded an image of the "Venice of the North" yesterday and you present us the Venice of Portugal, how nice ;-)
Looks very nice, great strong colors, perfect placement of that gondola and nice reflections. The WS is nice too, but I prefer your main post because I think the composition is stronger on this one.

Olá Aires, é engraçado pois o ambiente é muito veneziano de facto. Bom ângulo e excelente inclusão do chapéu azul a passar na ponte. O luminoso e colorido WS também é uma belíssima aproximação.
