Photographer's Note

Santana.

If tourists come to Santana , it is mainly to admire its traditional houses. Or rather its very small houses, because they only have two rooms and should measure around 30 m² ! In addition to their small size, they are characterized by their triangular shape (the roof downs to the ground level) and therefore, as you can see, stubbly. An architecture that you can only find in Santana.

That’s the beautiful scenery. Because in "real life" , these houses can be counted on the fingers of two hands in Santana and « live » today as tourist attractions , with rare exceptions. Most of these houses have now disappeared or are in the process of being (too small , uncomfortable , no more suited to our modern lifestyles ).
