Photo inside the airport overlooking the sea.
I liked this moment ,my last one before returning to Lisbon.

MadeiraInternational Airport

It takes around 1hr 30 min to fly from Madeira to any of the Portuguese airports and a little over two hours to get to airports in the centre of Europe. Flights to Porto Santo take 15 minutes.
MadeiraAirportis the largest construction project ever undertaken on the island. It used to be called Funchal Airport. Its runway has been extended from 1,600 m to its present 2,781 min length. The new part of the runway is built partially over the sea and is very impressive. It is supported by180 pillars constituting a monument to engineering. Each pillar is 3 metresin diameter and the tallest are 50 metres high.
The modern, spacious terminal building has a tourist office, a residential tourism booking office, a post office, car rental services, travel agencies, exchange bureaus, a restaurant, bars and shops. It also has two Netpoints for free wireless internet access.
The airport is about 16 km, a 15 minute ride, from Funchal.

Interesting note about airport ( critical information as well).
This photo has some mysteriouse colors - probably taken through glass, I assume.

Hi Goncalo,
Looking through the photo gallery, your thumbnail stood out. It is even better enlarged! The colours are beautiful, and the rays of sunlight hitting the water give it that added definition. The note was interesting as well...what a great view to have from an airport!

wow, isto parece tirado de um sonho, Gonçalo. Fantástico acabar a viagem com esta imagem e que vista fabulosa enquanto se espera pelos aviões num aeroporto. As cores são irreais e o show de raios a passar pelas nuvens transporta o momento para o plano do divino :)

ficou bonita esta vista com cores diferentes em cima e em baixo e aquelas estruturas (luminárias ?)no canto, os raios de luz descendo do céu criaram um efeito magníficoi. foto minimalista e bonita. lembro bem do velho aeroporto de funchal 1980, a gente pensava que o avião iria cair no mar enquanto a aeronave era freiada fortemente, indo parar quase na beira do abismo

wow, didn't know about this wonderful position of Madeira Airport! The effect given by your tobacco filter is quite strange, but I think the inclusion of the light poles in the frame adds much to the pic and makes it quite aenigmatic. A good interpretation tough...
