Babel translate:

Madeira. very known island for walk at the edge small course d' water (called levadas). While following these levadas we are arivés in a rather particular forest with all this green foam which pushed everywhere thanks to l' moisture of l' place.

LEVADAS:
" levadas" are channels d' irrigation, more or less broad, d' a depth of 50cm, which traverses more than 2150 Kms through l' island. They are thus used to feed the water villages and has to irrigate the cultures and the plantations. They constitute l' one of the richest elements of the cultural heritage of Madeira and show how l' intervention of l' man can s' to harmonize with nature without causing damage with the ecosystems. The network of the " levadas" is an impressive and discrete work which s' harmonize perfectly with the surrounding natural environment.
