At the northwestern end of the island of Madeira, the municipality of Porto Moniz has an indented coastline. Beyond this island that faces the old Fort St. Jean-Baptiste, the village is known for its natural pools in volcanic rocks. Today, these natural pools are arranged to facilitate access and secure it for swimmers. The rocky barrier protects from the pool waves of the Atlantic, as the north coast is much more exposed to wind and storms than the south coast. In general, the Madeiran coastline is not so adapted for bathing. The natural beaches are made at best with pebbles and at worst with uncomfortable big stones. Two sandy beaches exist, one natural in Caniçal and one artificial in Calheta.

Your image is certainly attractive with the distinctive blue flowering plant in the foreground standing out against the rocky cliff and sea in the background.
However, the focus of the image does not seem to match the emphasis of your note. Because the blue flower seems to be the main subject of the image, I expected to read about it in your note. It is one of those images where the clever use of depth-of-field is important to convey the message that you intend the viewer to receive.
(I hope this critique is OK with you, I am just trying to give you an objective point of view which might be helpful to you.)

The flower arrangement and the choice of selective focus is excellent. I like the beautiful blue flower with all nice details. The overall arrangement with nicely blurred brown rock in background is superb.
Very well done.

interesting framing which shows some rocky coastline through the plants in the foreground. I like their variety as well as the exotic (for me ) look. Nice use of tight framing and natural colors add to this picture.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day

Des cacti parés de leurs plus beaux atours posent fièrement devant le décor qui se fait discret par un flou étudié; ici l'art photo complète joliment le savoir-faire de la Nature!

Another lovely study of nature in your gallery! Like the way you focused on the flowers in the foreground and blurred the rock in the background. The visual effect is so eye-catching! Well done.
Have a nice weekend!
