Green layer (1) of Black Island (2), seen from red layer (3) of Blue Island (4).
Notes
1- Every inhabited Azores island has its own green layers. One has so many different ones, that is actually known as the Green Island.
2- Named after the sea level layer, which is mainly about 200 years old. (see theme)
3 - It lasted for 500 years, but it is now almost extinct.
4- Named after the upper level layer, which is even more recent. (see theme) |
