Photographer’s Note
The Azorean Whaleboat.
Conceived and created from the North American model, the azorean whaleboat today is considered one of the most emblematic boats of the world. The difficulties in the importation of this boats had stimulated the local creation of a "new model". Inhaled in the North American inheritance, the azorian people had launched a new model of the whaleboat, longer (approximately with 11,5 meters of length, 2 meters of width) and better adapted to the conditions of navigability of our seas and to the model of coastal whaling that was practised in the islands of the Açores. The first azorean whaleboat was constructed in Lajes do Pico Village by the Master Francisco Jose Machado, " Experiente" , in the ends of 19th century . Generations of other great naval constructors were born, in the island of Pico, the great center of the naval carpentry of the azorean archipelago, in the construction of whaleboats.

Olá Márcio. Grande título. Era miúdo e o anúncio da 'Old Spice' era das melhores coisas que passava na TV. Ainda existe a marca? Se existe já se deveria chamar 'Very Old Spice? :) A foto está muito boa, momento bem captado, excelente composição, cores vívidas e excelente definição . Muito boa mesmo. Um abraço. Paulo
