hi Allan!
there is a lot to be desired in this frame. as far as possible, avoid center framing. place your subject following the rule of thirds. that will make your pictures more attractive.
however, i like your POV and the idea.
the flower you have shot is commonly known as 'bird of paradise', binomial name is
Strelitzia reginae of family Strelitziceae.
