Photographer’s Note
Pico island and volcano, seen from the top of another volcano on Faial island. Pico at 2351m. altitude is the highest point in Portugal, and very rarely visible. The photo was taken from about 1000m. alt. (from the summit of Faial island's volcano, accessible by road). It was very windy, I was waiting and reading a book inside the car for the light to improve, and for a few minutes, the clouds cleared from Pico, later they came back and covered it again. Even the tourist brochures say " there is always some kind of cloud on Pico." The clouds did clear again the next day for a few hours when I was on Pico island itself, photos to follow one day soon.
22mm. focal length.
0.6 Lee sytems ND Grad soft edge filetr used.
A zoomed photo of the peak will be in workshop.

The best view as usual :-)
I really like the clouds at the top of this photo. It gives the photo a ceiling almost. The 22mm focal length is perfect because it gives us a great view with nice depth, but any wider and Pico would be too small. Glad you waited for the clouds to clear.

Ryan

Hi Tan. Patience, one of the virtues needed by landscape photographers. Hope the book was good. Worth the wait though. Playing spot the mountain through the clouds can lead to great shots like this. Well captured and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Tan
The view is spectacular and the colours are really nice. I'm thinking that there may be too much FG yellow and a crop of about half of the yellow FG would provide a better balance of colour.

Hi Tan,
I love the top of the mountain being above that cloud. The picture has very pleasant natural soft colours, nice light with the shades of clouds.
Well done

Hi Tan... Impressive shot of the mountain with the clouds making a cut, achieving that it looked even higher than the 2351 meters of altitude. Splendide DOF. Congratulations.

you're a specialist of wide views from high POV,
maybe a pano format could work well with this shot
