Photographer’s Note
The CP Valour went on the rocks in December 2005. After reporting engine trouble she attempted to anchor in a bay to the north of the island and after her anchors failed to drop she went onto the bach in 4 meter swells. Currently here in the Azores, there is a gathering of equipment which will attempt to float her off after removing superstructure, cargo and engines.
The Azores has made great efforts to be a pristine environment and obviously this has been a great blow to these isloated mid atlantic islands
