Sea Week at Faial (I) - Azores Photo

Photographer’s Note

In my Photo Information YOU have two WS-Workshops that are complementary or near views and are also good important ways of comunicate and share information. The first one is a View of Horta at Faial Island and the second is a shot to the deep ocean at the middle way from Faial to Pico Island.

So a little moment to see also them if YOU don't mind. My fist post about these new Serie is here: Link

This actual Post is dedicated to the "Week of the Sea" that have place at Horta at the second week of August 2005 that I will post another ones in future. During this week there many nautic events and also popular and tradition festivities in the town.

Now I will post this picture that was taken from the boat with mdday time and qith the vertical sun rays near my frontal approach.

These beautiful Islands are located in the vast Atlantic Ocean somewhere half a way between Europe and North America.

These two Islands Faial and Pico are part of the five Central Islands, that are visited all the year for several thousand of tourists and sea navigators from all the world. It's like a world navigation network!

NOTE: This current Travel Serie would be these particular Atlantic Islands with harmonious mountains, sea scenery, walles and dolphins, cows with milk and excelent cheese for all the world, great wonderfull volcanic sceneries and nature and I will try to catalog in different selective ways to post.

These are natural and preserved nature wonders that have Sailors, Solitaire navigators and important world tourism and preserved Sportiv Game-Fishing with people linked to United States, Canada, Brazil, Europe and also naturally to Continental Portugal.

Simple subjet, a wave, but powerful one. I like how you´ve portrait it. The DOF is splendid. The boat looks so weak in the distance. Take care.

Antes de mais obrigado pelos teus comentários às minhas fotografias.
Acho excelente a maneira como expões as tuas fotografias sempre com uma nota extremamente detalhada e com fotos complementares.
Neste caso eu gosto imenso da que está no 1º WS, pois dá uma excelente imagem da ilha metade debaixo de um céu azul e límpido e a outra metade debaixo de nuvens carregadas.

Hi Fernando,
The 2/3 sea and 1/3 sky is perfectly, and the white foam give a nice feeling, but the small boat on the background is a excellent added.

I like the force of the waves. Simple and strong. Nice how you captured the dark side of the sea changing into a lighter blue at the left. And of course...the boat at the horizon ;)

Well Fenando I would have cropped so that there is a little wave and a scene where the distant boat is more central to the photo. But that is just my suggestion. Cheers to you and thanks for your visit today

Hi Fernando. I see we both posted shots today of the Atlantic. My personal favorite of the three is the one WS where we are looking back to the mainland. But you did well with the fast shutter speed to stop the motion in the wave. Very nice one Fernando!

And someone is in far in that boat on the sea under a nice sunlight and has a pleasance moment(I hope),and you captured it excellent with a nice dynamism,a great simple but full of feeling atmosphere that I love,graet work,the light is lovely here,nicely composed and glad you posted it,Fernando,

Bonjour Fernando,
sans ce petit voilier là-bas dans le fond, cette photo n'aurait pas le même impact.
L'horizon un peu courbe témoigne de l'usage d'un grand-angle.
On ressens bien les conditions météos qui ne sont pas des meilleures, mais qui offrent de belles lumières.
DOF et focus bien adaptés aussi.

This is an interesting shot in that the foreground has a lot af activity and vitality while the background suggests peace and quiet with a touch of loneliness. It is as if while we are enjoying the thrills and excitement we sometimes also longed for the peace and quiet, a time when we can enjoy being alone. Excellent shot!!! Regards.

Hi Fernando, A simple and fun picture. I like the clear view of the wave behind your motor boat and the sailboat distance away. Nice clear horizon line and the reflections of the sky on the water. A well taken picture.

this is a nice water one, well framed and coloured.
The elements are interesting just to say that you have interesting things in this empty space and its due throught the colors and lightness more than by the solid elements.
Not the best but a good mood.

Nice hommage to the Sea.Good contrast between the foreground wave and the calm sea in the background.The sailboat on the horizon is a nice point for the eye to rest on.I like the Symbolism in this picture.

I like the simplicity in this image, Fernando. The impressionistic feel is very nice. It might be worth looking at whether you can move that lovely splash out of center, though. Nice exposure of sea and sky, and the addition of the sailboat is wonderful!

I like the lone yacht on the horizon. The subtle diffences in textures in different parts of the water are great. The foreground wave adds a highlight to the tonal range. Good work & parabens!

I like all 3 photos Fernando; they all offer us something different. The main one and the 2nd WS are both deceptively simple compositions; but you had the eye to see the potential. The 1st WS gives us more visual information and is a more usual composition.

Very beautiful view at the ocean from the boat. Fantastic colors and the deatails of the waves. The lonely boat on the horizon add a lot of charm to this scenery. Olá Fernando,
Mais uma vez a escolha de uma foto na sua galeria, nunca significa a crítica final. Um link leva a outro e quando dou por isso estou noutra completamente diferente da inicial. Parei neste apanhado simples da espuma com o barco à vela a atrair o nosso olhar para o horizonte. O que gosto mais nesta imagem é obviamente o 'splash' no centro da espuma. Aprecio bastante as imagens em ws, especialmente do detalhe da espuma com um pequeno pormenor em forma de 'dedo a apontar'.
Esta publicação foi realizada quase na mesma data da minha entrada no TE.
