Hello Friends,

As we have already informed you, we have now in Poland the longest weekend of modern Europe:) 1st and 3rd May is a holiday here but most of companies and offices are also closed on 2nd. Then we have Sunday so total 4 days free:)
As you can see on the photo most of people left the city and as opposed to everybody we stayed in Poznan. What we were doing - we will show you on coming pics:)

Cheers!

PS. Just for fun...On the photo there is one of TE members...A big beer for this one who will guess where and who it is:)

I know this square very well...when I visited Poznan in 2006 it was June...and it was nice to sit outside on the square, looking at the fifa world championship games there...

Hello Mik!

Interesting view of a rainy square in a nice old city.

In Russia we have only three free days - but another three free days at next weekend because of the Day of Victory.

Regards,
Igor

Witam!
Pozdrawiam

Hej

Widze, ze i u Was dzis polalo. Pochod sie udał? ;) Dobry komentarz dla swiata o naszej naturze: co robic zeby sie nie narobic.
Dla podtrzymania na duchu: wkrotce kolejny dluzszy weekend, ten na Boze Ciało. I niech Polska rosnie w sile!

Alleluja i do przodu.

Cześć,

fajnie to wygląda. Ale czy rzeczywiście wszyscy wyjechali? Sporo TE-owiczów pracowicie spędza ten dzień. Ja zwykle zostaje w domu, kiedy wszyscy wyjezdżają, lubie takie opustoszałe miasto. Pozdrawiam

Well there are some people in the square !
Maybe " abandoned cafe" would be more real :)
In any case is a very attractive shot with excellent POV and wonderful colors.
Perpective is very good too.
best regards Argyris

Ciekawie pokazany fragment Poznania. Przy tak szerokim kacie obiektywu dystorsja usprawiedliwiona. Ladne kolory, dobra ostrosc detali.
P.S. Wszechmogacy byl laskawy.

hi there :)
don't get me started about the long weekends... in Latvia it's a public holiday on 1 May, then the working day of 2 May is moved to 10 May (yes, to Saturday), then comes the Saturday and Sunday, but since 4 May (Sunday) is a public holiday as well and since it falls on a weekend, it's moved to Monday, 5 May... alltogether 5(!!!!!!) days free. but not for me, since the UN is working, our mission has to work as well... no justice in this world.... ;)
sorry about this whining, all I wanted to say that I like the photo a lot :) especially the saturated colours despite what looks like a cloudy and rainy day.

have a great weekend,
Kristine

Ciao Mik,
it is impressive to see as a town empties himself for the holidays. beautiful composition, interesting the note .
good job
Giorgio

Hi friends,
In Spain a lot of people (like me) use a day of vacations not to work today, and this way to be four days to rest or to travel.
Barcelona is full of tourists who visit her, while many inhabitants of the city have gone away of the city.
I like the environment caught in your photo, with the loneliness of this agreeable terrace, and with the ground wetted after the rain.
Nice and interesting work.
Best regards,
Josep

Pusto i mokro. Fajny ten wasz Poznań. Ciekawe zdjęcie.
Pozdrowienia.

Hi Mik.
Lovely scene. Great composition and very well seen and shot. Beauriful sharpness. Which makes me have to ask. I've just got my own 450D and I'm strugling with sharpness. I'm just wondering what picture style and sharpness setting you used. You've achieved lovely quality. I'd apreciate a tip. Well done my friend.
Regards, Steve.

Hello Mikeo,

Interesting place and yes very desolate. I do realize though tthat rain also played a role in people being indoors. Nice image with very good clarity and colours. The empty chairs create an interesting theme in the image. Cheers :-)

Roberto
PS. Any suggested restaurant in Poznan that serves good Polish Food?

A good depth of field and level of sharpness throughout. The chairs and decking in the foreground give good graphical qualities. The beautiful colourful façades serve as a nice backdrop.
Best wishes
Mark

Witam Mik,
I am sorry to disappoint you, but we had the same long weekend here in Portugal. 1st May is a public holiday and as almost nobody works on Saturday... Hurrah! 4 days off work!
And this month we have another holiday on a Thursday: Corpus Christi. And in June it's even better: the 10th (Tuesday) is the national day, on the 13th (Friday) is holiday in Lisboa. I wish all years and months were like this. ;D
Now for the photo: I see many interesting things... You have a new camera, the square is very charming, you had rain, but that seems to have given you a marvellous light that you profit very well, it's great to see the ambiance of an almost deserted town when nobody is working and went away for a small holidays. Very nice compo indeed, you made very good use of those wide angle lenses.

Hello,

It is different here, in Slovenia. We have holiday on 1st and 2nd of May...which also resulted in four day vacation. :) Excellent use of wide angle, it is just perfect how houses "open" with a little distortion, like they are imitating the form of chairs. The result is excellently opened space of beautful coloured ambient. Nice observing!

Cheers,
Jeri

Ciao,
very interesting view on the city and excellent choice of framing with the empty chairs and table in foreground. Very good atmosphere of a day after the rain.
