Jurku, gdy jest jakis specjalny dzien, Ty zawsze nas rozczulasz az do placzu...
Gdy widze takie zdjecia, zawsze zastanawiam sie, co on, ona, teraz robi, jak jej, jemu, sie ulozylo zycie...Dziewczynka chyba zaledwie mlodsza ode mnie, dzisiaj ma juz czterdzieche na karku...Jestem za tym, azeby zalozyc specjalny Site na anonimowe (oraz imienne) zdjecia z przeszlosci, osob, o ktorych losach nic juz nie wiemy...Data, miejsce, oraz imie i nazwisko, o ile posiadamy. Mysle, ze wiele ludzi wpadlo by na samych siebie...

Zdjecie : piekna klasyka.

A very special photo indeed, so simple and so much talking... Very nostalgic and the perfect mood (I think I understand what you mean - saw my mother this afternoon : she is in that same mood this Friday, like every year, not talking as much as usual)...

Compliments for this nice photo a bit "retro" as we say here (it looks even like dating from the 60s IMO),

Ta szpitalna piżamka z troczkami zamiast guzików... ta piżamka - może nawet bardziej niż niezdarnie zaplecione warkoczyki, niż chłód lastrikowego parapetu i obdrapanego okna - mówi o tych specyficznych okolicznościach, w jakich znajduje się dziewczynka. I jeszcze to pacnięcie pigułą śniegu dokładnie tam, gdzie powinno być twarzy odbicie... Smutek dziecięcy ulotny jest, tak łatwo dziecko z tego smutku wytrącić... Gdyby nie te dodatkowe okoliczności...
Znakomity portrecik - a dzięki światłu i białej oprawie budzi jednak jakaś nadzieję... :))
Serdeczności przesyłam - zamyślona jakoś tak sobie T.

Zdjęcie jest ciekawe z kilku powodów. Pomijam warstwę emocjonalną, bo samotne sierotki w piżamce zawsze wzruszają. Ale przecież nie chciałeś wywołać u nas łez tanim kosztem, prawda?
Ale jest jeszcze ten drugi aspekt zdjęcia - tytuł i dzień w którym je pokazujesz. Przenosisz brawurowo mękę pańską do wymiaru ludzkiego. Można ten przekaz czytać na wiele sposobów. Albo: "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?", albo "On cierpiał także za nią", albo " mówicie, że Chrystus cierpiał... popatrzcie na nią...", albo.... Albo zupełnie inaczej. I ta wieloznaczność jest największym atutem wiadomości, którą do nas kierujesz licząc na moją wrażliwość i inteligencję. Co do tego pierwszego nie mam wątpliwości, co do drugiego - nie mam złudzeń.

Looking out at the outside world and dreaming. Dreaming at a white, lightened outside while inside it is dark and dull. How much we hope that the outside will be a place of dreams. And how much sometimes we are so disappointed that we just want to hide inside...
I like this photo for many reasons. Some are too personal to tell here. I like how her look is speaking silent words and silent dreams. And the head slightly leaning on her right hand is talking about waiting. The light is beautiful on her skin.
You did a wonderful job here with that child. I hope her life outside has brought live to her dreams of 1978...

A very sensitive image. The girl immerse in some sort of thoughts while looking through the window... The inside-outside world conflict... Beautiful image, very evocative, that speaks about desires, childhood, and uncertain future... a whole world…

bardzo indywidualne zdjęcie...bardzo ...chyba zaczyna brakować słów lekko - bardzo smutne, ale przy tym przez tą biel po lewej stronie, z jakąś potężną dozą optymizmu...let's hope, że ta dziewczynka ma ciekawsze życie niż to gdy była samotna w sierocińcu...

Vous avez vraiment bien capté la mélancolie de cette petite, portrait vraiment spécial, vous avez raison, ce n' est jamais agréable et de plus pour les enfants de se retrouver dans un hospital.

Hi George,

A strong portrait of a topic as alive today as it was in 1978.
Love the compo with her looking out, looking out the window, hoping, for something, anything, any change. I'm not sure what will have been worse, the growing up without parents or the struggle to get through empty days.
I do love the portrait as much as I dislike the framing perhaps. I don't mind your off-center frames, but here the over-exposed top left seems to just flow into the frame. Nah.. ;-)

I'm used to see your happy portraits, great smiles. So, I didn't expect this sad mood. But then I read the note. No child can be happy in a hospital ward in a orphanage. Even less in Poland 1978.
