Photographer’s Note

This is another photo from my autumn holidays 2006 in Tatra mountains. It was taken from a path to Giewont peak (1894m). Path was very narrow here and quite busy with approaching group of people so I couldn't use my tripod and had to hand hold it. Fortunately there was enough light to use noise-free high ISO 100, shutter speed of 1/160 sec and aperture f/14.0 for sharp details in the foreground. The views were quite spectacular with light conditions changing every second. Clouds were passing through so one minute there was nothing and then after short while views like this appeared. It was fascinating to just watch how quickly the surrounding scene transformed from one to another where combination of sun light, clouds and mountains created totally new pictures while in fact it was still the same view. It is one of those things that fascinates me in the mountains the most - everchanging landscape and light conditions.
