In trusses we trust
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Somewhere in northern Poland on a sunny autumn day this guy from a road maintenance outfit cleans the road surface of a long bridge over one of Wisla´s many arms. Using broom and shovel he and his mates take up the sand that has accumulated since last time.
Keeping bridges clean might look like a hopeless job but it is more important than you think as the dirt will keep the surface moist and let corrosion and concrete deterioration begin.
The truss pattern is strong in this view. The idea of a truss is that a triangle can not change it´s shape and by adding members in a pattern of closed triangles you get a stiff and strong structure with a relativly low amount of material used.
In the picture we see four layers of trusses as two bridges run parallell. The first two are on the road bridge which is a former railway bridge and the second two are on a newer railway bridge in the back. |

Hello Ebbe,
Man already disappeared between diagonal steel beams that shows us how big construction there is.
I like his color of vest that help us to identify him easily in the middle of huge, grey mess.
I wish Happy New Year to you and your family.
Regards,
Ertugrul
Hello Ebbe,
Beautiful composition with a lot of graphism and the colorful man who brings a nice presence... Good framing too !
Regards,
Stéphanie.

Hi Ebbe,
fine capture, I like the correct exposure and strong geometry.
Just my opinion, but I would prefer if the image was corrected for the perspective so that the horizontals would be really horizontal.
But I really like the image as it is.
Hello Ebbe,
A very good shot. I enjoy the contrast and the graphism.
Well composed with the iron elements.
Best regards,
Fabrice
Hi Ebbe,
These are strong enough as your presentation says. Nice you included the guy as it is giving real size of the truss members.
Thanks for sharing this picture with technical aspects.
