[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This little fellow in the picture above is definitely a sailor. And, as sailors ashore are wont to do, he's drowned all his sorrows in a bottle of rum, I suppose. Depicted here is his swaggering struggle against the rights of gravity. It is hard to believe, but finally he won and managed to stand still:-)

and now a bit of explanation of the title:

Drunken Sailor was a sea shanty (work song) often sung when raising a sail or raising the anchor, which is the reference for “Up She Rises” in the song’s chorus.

There are many different versions of the lyrics. Note that "early" is often pronounced as "earl-eye."

Intro
What shall we do with a drunken sailor, (3×)
Early in the morning?
Chorus
Hoo–ray/Wey–hey/Heave-ho and up she rises, (3×)
Early in the morning.
Verses
Put him in the longboat till he’s sober, (3×)[1]
Early in the morning.
Put him in the longboat and make him kiss 'er, (3×)[2]
Early in the morning.
Pull out the plug and wet him all over, (3×)[3]
Early in the morning.
Put him in the scuppers with a hosepipe on him, (3×)[4]
Early in the morning.
Heave him by the leg in a running bowline, (3×)[5]
Early in the morning.
Tie him to the taffrail when she’s yardarm under, (3×)[6]
Early in the morning.
Keelhaul him, keelhaul him (3×)[7]
Early in the morning.
Shave his belly with a rusty razor, (3×)[8]
Early in the morning.
Outro
That’s what we’ll do with a drunken sailor, (3×)
Early in the morning.

cheers!:-)

Interesting shot here Kris. With the two boats on the left, it kinda looks like the sailor just staggered off the boats!

I think that this photo would look better as a black and white and maybe cropping off an inch off the top as well as I think there's too much sky.

Witaj Kris!

Rewelacja! Wiem, że tutaj czasami się tego słowa nadużywa, ale to jest naprawdę świetna obserwacja. Marynarz wygląda na nieźle "wziętego". No i jeszcze ta fajeczka. Czasami można spotkać takich gości - nieprzytomny a peta nie wypuści z ust. Koleś w szarej marynarce niczym wierny druh o silniejszej głowie podtrzymuje kompana. Dla mnie BOMBA!

Pozdrowienia
Jacek

PS
Fajnie się chociaż plażowało w Orłowie? Bo pogoda tego lata była nie za bardzo.

Hi Kris,
You have perfect timing and excellent title for this pic. Good framing showing both the sailor and beach with boats. Nice clouds too.

Hi Kris

Interessting picture, and a funny subject ^^
well done

Kris,
the image is very suggestive and without seeing your title and came to the same phrasing; "what shall we do ..." Excellent composition by including these boats at the left side and placing the "sailor" and the supporting person so off center at the right corner. Very funny shot!
Regards, Peter
