What one can see on that picture are two most significant and recognizable towers of my city - Elblag.
First of them is biult in 1319 Market Tower.
The tower is just 26 meters high.
With that tower people connects a legend of a brave young Baker man. One night he was working in a bakery, tired decided to breathe with some fresh air out side and decided to climb the city's fortifications. Then he saw enemy army that was surrounding the sleeping city.
With no hesitation he took his shovel and cut the ropes that kept the gate in upper position. The gate fall down and closed just a seconds before enemy got to the city. But it is just a legend. One can ask what happened to the walls that surrounded the city - thay and the castle biult in Elblag were destroyed during the war. Market Tower is the sparse monument of the past.
The other one is the tower of the St. Nicholas Cathedral. The beginning of cathedral is dated on 13th century.
That tower is the highest building in Elblag - and has 96 meters.
