The intersection of two streets Zachodnia and Ogrodowa was the center of the city life. Izrael Poznanski established one of the biggest textile factories in Europe in XIX century. He built a beautiful residence right beside his factories. This factory campus has become a city within city. Poznanski supplied energy from his own power plant, had his own railroad dock, fire department. There were workers parcels and school nearby the factory complex. The campus was going through lots of changes in XX century. The last workers have left the factory walls in 1997.
