Winter's coming... Photo

Photographer’s Note

I have been living in Cracow for more than 2 months now. It is the city I had always dreamt about and I was finally able to make my dream come true so here I am. I live in Mistrzejowice, which is a northern area of Cracow. What I have noticed a few times already is that fogs are really frequent here in the mornings and evenings as well. Today, I was totally amazed. A thick fog has been covering the whole area throughout the day. The day has been gloomy, greyish and quite cold. This seems to be a direct sign of the winter inevitably coming to my place... I am starting to long to heat and sun now...
This tree is in my neighbourhood. Usually, it doesn't attract any attention as it is an ordinary tree growing together with some others in a small green field surrounded by plenty of simple blocks of flats. However, today the tree made me feel anxious, and the view brought to my mind some associations with gothic sceneries...

PP: I added a lot of contrast to make the tree more visible against the foggy background.

o, Lukasz, szczeka mi opada...kompletnie mnie zaskoczyles:-)absoltunie swietne...zimne, gotyckie, tajemnicze, pieknie..super jest ta tonacja, lekko jakby wpadajaca w zielen, super kompozycja...masz racje, z takimi oznakami zimy bardziej ujawnia się chce ucieczki gdzies w cieple miejsce z plecakiem i przewodnikiem, ale przyznam ze ostatnimi czasy rowniez i takie zimne widoki wprawiaja mnie w oslpupienie swoim pieknem...

Very nice composition almost B/W !
Winter is coming everywhere in Europe...Your picture is great with all this misty part.
There is a little too much "noise" on the misty area but it doesn't worry me.

Very nice- you really made this tree something special. The graceful droops of the needles on the bows is just perfect for the foggy surroundings. The ground looks nice too!

cze¶c ³ukasz, bardzo fajna praca. Taka nastrojowa, senna i tyle w niej spokoju. Mg³a daje cudowne zmiekczenia. Mimo "mglistej pogody" dobrze wyszd³ Ci kontrast.
