Town Hall of Ustka. The building was designed in 1910 as a school. It is eclectic in form with elements of secession and historicism bringing to mind images of medieval castles. It was built between 1911 and 1912 at the cost of 126 thousand marks which equaled 95 annual salaries of a construction worker. A the time it was one of the most monumental sites in the village of Ustka. It housed a school between 1912 and 2004, which was Germam up to 1945 and then Polish. The German school had its own sailing and rowing boat – a present from Prince Henry, Emperor William II’s brother. The design was made by Friederich Engelbrecht a construction adviser from Bydgoszcz. As he did not take any money for the design the chairman of Ustka’s communal council granted him some silver tableware. His name was also given to the street where the school is situated, which after the war changed to the Heroes of Stalingrad and then to Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski street in 1990.
