Photographer’s Note

Castle of Pomeranian Dukes in the city of Darłowo. The castle is built in XIV century in Gothic style on a base plan resembling a square; its tower is 24 meters high. The Kings of Denmark, Sweden and Norway lived here – Eric the Pomeranian when he lost his Scandinavian throne, went back to Darłowo and rebuilt and reinforced the fortress. After his death Bogusław X strengthened castle even more. He built the House of Princess Zofia, the living quarters where the white lady ghost walks. This is the only castle of such characteristic on the Polish seacoast. Today a Regional Museum.

Hi Mikoloaj,

I like this particular photo because of the unusual architecture and the pattern of the clouds in the sky. The arc of shadow contrasting with the lit grass in the FG makes for a good composition. Good deep tones and strong saturation.

Hi Mikolaj,
A very interesting picture, made up of many good angles and lines. The differently coloured fields bring my mind towards a cubistic painting and it is also nice to see the big paintings included here. A very interesting note with details from our history!

Hello Mikolaj. A castle? It is now a museum. You do not see it at first glance, to belong as well as modern buildings. The special feature are the paintings on the outside wall. A remarkable photograph and a good contribution for TE. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Czaderski zameczek, widac, ze pare razy byl przebudowywany, malarskie kicze faktycznie nawet do niega pasuja, wuglada jak by to byla reklama lodow, ale to reklama chyba nie jest, bo zadnych napisow nie widze, poza tym nastepny obraz wisi na wewnetrznej scianie zamku, jak widac.

Czolem Mikolaj!
Znam ten zamek, mam stad zdjecia na TE, nie powiem, lubie i ten z lekka pretensjonalny zamek, i samo Darlowo, calkiem przyjazne miasteczko. Dobre zdjecie. Okropne banery na murach dodaja fotografii smaczku i pikanterii.

Witaj Mikolaju,
Kolorystycznie zdjecie naprawde nie ma sobie rownych. Bardzo ciekawe rzeczy- jak widze- mozna znalezc na scianach zamkow. Jednemu podoba sie zamek, drugiemu pani z lodem. Tak czy inaczej duzo dobrego dzieje sie na tym zdjeciu. Kawal wysmienitej roboty.

old brick walls are most attractive, and big printings on those make strange atmosphere.
light and colors are clear and beautiful,

Hello Mikolaj,
A most interesting picture. It's unusual to see those paintings on the walls, and indeed the whole photo looks like a painting. The main style is a bit cubistic because of the lines and angles of the various buildings, and I find a touch of pointillism in the sky.

A magnificent monument the one that you show us with a good POV in his execution, the unique thing that is out of tune is the advertisement of ice creams breaking the aesthetics of so precious set.
A good luminosity and color help to enlarge the postcard.
