Next shot from little winter story. Were are still in Katowice. this photo was taken 5 minutes before previous pic at TE. Today still 20.000 citizens of Katowice have no electricity - in case fridays' storms. Also some cell phones do not work porperly.
PS: how i protect my camera?
I do nothing to protect body and lens - I have no special bags or somethink like that. In such occasions I am wearing my canon between polar and gore tex coat. when i want to make picture i get it from this "pocket" shot some photos and put it back :):)
Pozdrawiam - Alan.
sorry for not good eng :)

Very atmospheric shot. i like the fact its B+W reminds me of a evel of a computer game i used to play Medal of Honour, but I suppose thats irrelevant!
I like your note on how you protect your camera also, I find it hard to take good shots in bad weather as I am reluctant to have it out for a long period of time.
Its amazing how many people aer out in this weather, however i imagine in poland its a lot colder than the UK so people woudl be used to it.

Great scene, well composed, very well composed...
Those footprints are really a nice pattern.

Great atmosphere of frosen day. Steps are nice, so dark in the snow. This is a nice POV and angle and you have great composition. Congrat!!

This is the kind of shot i truely like. Interesting pattern in b&w. And the tilt of the picture..
You could have probably cropped less from the right to have the complete road (or use more tilt :) ).

Magic atmosphere and great composition.

Very intriguing shot. I love the patterns made by the footprints in the snow and the stark black and white contrast. Very nice!

This black-out may be a disaster for the citisens, but what an inspiring weather for photographers:-)))
Beautiful moody picture!

That's it is a truely great compo. The pattern of feet leading to the focus point in the top left, where there's a perfectlt positioned group of people. This one would look good framed on a study wall. Yet another favourite.
GrahamB (939) 2004-11-24 3:24
I love this bold composition with the footprints in the snow occupying most of the frame and leading up to the people in the distance. The B&W adds to the cold feel of the scene. Very well done.
Curioso (9271) 2004-12-06 17:41
Very nice footprints which create that perspective. I also like the light tilting as I have the feeling I'm falling. Last things, I do love these large enlighten spots on the snow : did you made some burning trick or level adjustments to do that ? Great mood for this shot Aleksander.

I have added this to my favourite, I love the foot prints with different depths and grey colour, almost like a monochroic divisionism painting on the walk way . great work

A very good picture. Almost perfect which can be commented on with nothing except "wow!" I like the framing...one side is desolate and the other has people... nice lines throughout just like a painting. Good work and thanks for sharing

This photograph is very beautiful. It's so rich in textures and I love the lines of the composition. It feels sad, and familiar.
Ramonven (126) 2005-01-19 12:33
Interesting picture Aleksander! That you can see the footsteps so clear... Very good! Well captured! Ramon

This is a remarkable shot, and probably one of my favorites that I've seen on TE in a long time. Everything about it is exquisite--the focus, the composition, the contrast, the angle. Excellent, excellent shot, Aleksander. Dziekuje.

I like this one very much too , with this graphical and 'dark' approch ( typically polish in my mind :)) )
