Photographer’s Note

Hello Trekkies,
Miller’s Palace and the mill of the XIXth century – The act of Koszalin establishment from 1266 makes a reference to the construction permit for the first watermill. The mill survived until great city’s fire in 1601. Until the XIX century, the mill was repeatedly extended and modernised. The new mill built within the period of 1838-1842 was equipped with American machinery and a water turbine (1878). Within the period of 1890-1897 a miller’s palace was attached to the mill which performed, after the II World War, the administrative function for the Milling Company. After the mill renovation and adaptation as a gallery, in 1991 it became the seat of the Koszalin District Museum.
Entered in the Register of Listed Buildings under No 910 on 4th May 1976.
As mentioned, currently this building is owned by Koszalin District Museum. Just look at the wall! This funny face in the pencil-made crown belongs to great painter and graphic artist Stasys Eidrigevicius who has currently an exhibition of his works in Koszalin District Museum. This is a great honour for Koszalin City, because Stasys' works are normally exhibited in places like British Museum in London, Museum of Modern Art in New York, National Library in Washington DC, Creation Gallery w Tokio, Museo Vaticano in Rome and other famous galleries.
Thank you for the visit!
Chris
