Photographer’s Note

The White Factory in the city of Lodz (Łódź), Piotrowska street. It is the seat of the Central Museum of Textiles; is a magnificent complex of classicist buildings, one of the most beautiful examples of industrial architecture. It was built by Ludwik Geyer in the years 1835-1839 it was many times rebuilt and developed. It was the first multi-department mill in Łódź which housed the first in Poland mechanical cotton spinning and weaving room with the first in Poland steam machine. In 1952 Krystyna Kondratiuk organised the Department of Textiles in the Museum of Art in Łódź. Its collection grew quickly and the exhibitions of textiles were extremely popular, so the Department became more independent as Branch of the Museum of Art. In 1960 Museum of the History of Textiles was established and in 1975 the Central Museum of Textiles.

Wonderful reflections on the rippled surface of the water, with excellent sharpness & framing on the bg building. Good colour & light contrasts. I like the punchy high contrast & warm cold color contrast, between the red brick chimney, & the blue sky. Tfs!

Since there is too much water movement to get a nice reflection maybe I'd crop here most of the empty water foreground to get a better view of thuis nice heritage building

Fabryka jak z innego swiata, ale coz, nie kipi, nie dymi, nie huczy, zamieniona na muzeum przedstawia sie calkiem sympatycznie i przyjaznie, na dodatek ladnie sie prezentuje w kolorach wody i laki, a takze czaderskiego nieba.

I vari riflessi multicolore nell'acqua, sono ciò che gradisco maggiormente in questa foto e l'ampia vista dell'acqua, contribuisce a dare una buona profondità (DOF).

The factories looked a bit different back then!
They have apparently put some effort in making the building look good, hehehe...
The lake makes a fine lead to the buildings, well framed by the vegetation!
