Photographer’s Note

One ordinary Sunday when people were leaving St Bartholomew's church after the Mass, the sun found its way through high, gothic windows.

Check my workshop to see wider view - I love the light on the arch above the cross and couldn't decide, which version to show - but narrower view seems to be simpler and more organized (though the quality of the crop is not perfect).

jakze zal, ze czas naswietlania nie byl o polowe krotszy - aby utrwalic wyraznie skupiony wyraz twarzy, oswietlonej tak wspanialym swiatlem w tak wspanialym momencie...
bo potrzeba by tej twarzy, aby kompozycyjnie zrownowazyc ta gromadke osob drugoplanowych u stop chrystusa i aby uzyskaz efekt koncepcyjnego polaczenia dwu planow...

Hello Joanna,
Personally I am not much into religion, but that is not important here. It's a very "soulful" picture, full of emotion, reminding me of something out of a movie, maybe the "Dekalog" by Kieslowski. The light falls beautifully on the woman's face and the cross. The ws is very good too, but quite another picture. I really don't know which one I prefer.
