Photographer’s Note

Red brick, red roof - no wonder the name of the region "Warmia" comes from the Old Prussian word "Wormjan" – meaning "red soil" (or "red ground"). The colour is easy to find in old architecture.
All right, the word was invented when this part of the world was still quite wild, not so civilized.
Ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present... January morning, starring: old Warmian farm and Nature. Can you imagine what pleasure it was to see some colour, after long months of grey, wet winter?

I posted this shot because of the lack of mystical, moody photographs on my computer, what a shame.
The occasion: Loreena McKennitt's birthday. She's Canadian singer, composer, harpist and pianist most famous for writing, recording and performing world music with Celtic and Middle Eastern themes. McKennitt is well known for her soprano vocals.
Yes, I copied this from Wikipedia ;-)
And I borrowed the title from one of Loreena's albums.

Now, I recommend you her music, full of emotions and atmosphere - really delicious.

Piêkny i jak¿e bliski mi obrazek. Dobra, przejrzysta kompozycja, no i wreszcie trochê ¶wiat³a, a wiêc i kolorów :)A ¿e przy tym sam jestem warmiakiem i równie¿ lubiê Loreenê... to pozdrawiam serdecznie i czekam na kolejne warmiñskie pejzarze.

Very nice country side scene with two lonely houses. I especially like the light and the peace of bright blue sky through the gray clouds. Very nice photo. And thanks for reminding me of Loreena, I didn't play her songs for years! Maybe I should now, for her birthday ;)

A beautiful image which was transformed in beautiful painting by a hard treatment well done, which removes a little naturalness with the image of origin, but makes the unit pleasant. Good balance of the composition.

What a kitschy postcard you show us after your long absence...;-) Actually, I really love the warm colours of the field and the lonely house. The loneliness is somehow underscored by the mighty sky with the spectacular clouds. Like someone else this has the qualities of a painting.

I just came across your fascinating gallery (very different from my Grandma-Moses-like style) and I immediately became attached by this composition. I love Loreena McKennitt's music. And this could well be the perfect cover for one of her albums. The light here is fabulous. Half golden light, half stormy mood. Priceless... A nice pastoral scene.

Compositionally, this is perfect, lovely lovely view, so down to earth and full of rustic charm. Techincally, it is a little high in noise level, but that didn't take away from the charm and coziness of this iamge. I love it, keep up the good work. Thanks
