Krakow is not only beautiful.Waling on those old streets you can feel that you are part of the city ,and every building or corner can offer a hidden beauty
Trying to see how this image looks in b&W I liked and I chose to post it so
The old woman crossing the street was a bonus

i like the detail of the woman on the corner

I live in Krakow but don't recognize this place :)
I like the tones of B&W that make the structure of the old buildings stronger. And a lack of XXI century signs is a plus. Only that advert board disturb a little bit.

Absolutely stunning view. An impressive presentation. Pure turpism.
And the lady in the corner is really amazing element.
Regards my dear friend.
And... something for you.

i think that you've right chosen to pressent it in BW!
i like the sharpness and the mood very much!
also, the woman crossing the street it's an interesting detail in your compo...maybe you should had captured her a bit earlier in order not to be confused with the street sign...
have a nice weekend!

congratulations for the nice photo! it looks like if it was taken in the 2nd world war (maybe there are still some marks of that period which have been there ever since). the framing is well chosen as well, which emphesizes the drama. good shot!
have a nice day,

You're right! the B&W choice is outstanding here, enhancing the texture of the walls and the contrast between the snow and the dark tones of the street asphalt. The pattern by the windows is a little "distressing" on my feeling, but I find it the real "star" of this beautiful shot!
P.S. it reminds me a little about "Schindler's List" locations...

fiecare casa aici e plin de povesti despre trecutul. Si arata urmele din ce a fost, cu mandrie.Se simte istoria orasului in poza ta, e foarte dramatic, si frumos in aceasi timp.

I love how you postprocess your photos, you create a fantastic atmosphere without losing its reality.
That old street of Krakow looks like frozen of cold, I can even see ice covering walls and pavements.
You arranged contrast and brightness just perfect!
Have a nice weekend,

Bonne idee d'avoit choisi le n-b pour montrer les vieilles maison avec les facades abimees. La lumiere soulige leur etat pitoyable. Ou trouver les fonds pour les renover?

Hi Isabela, where have you found such a place? Very interesting composition and stunning view, like from the times of this elderly lady :)) Nice bonus on the corner. Nice WS.

I dthis image with the B/W and strong tonal qualities shows the true artistic side of your photography.. Th buildings are very strong, yet they show age and the harsh conditions to which the peoples that reside within their walls have or have had to accept. The positioning of the woman in the frame could be taken note as her not wanting to be seen as she is also one of the tenants that survive within the walls of this building. It appears to be a rough neighborhood at night,
An excellent post and great sight to see the harshness in B/W...

Façades délabrées avec un coté esthétique magnifié par le noir et blanc, soulignant le graphisme verticale des murs et fenêtres. Le mur du fond donne l'impression que le temps est dans une impasse et que tout restera figé.

Artistic, unique, sentimental, yet inviting! Great work! Thank you for sharing! Regards Stella

I can see that your meeting in Krakow was really successful! You could catch very well the mood of the city and interpret your feelings through this photo. Great composition, POV and use of B&W!

Que tout cela est lugubre Isabela,
et la photo est magnifique dans ce sens qu'elle rend à 100% cette atmosphère morose et triste.
Rein ne transpire un quelconque bonheur ici.
Mistral (15402) 2009-01-27 13:10
excellent framing and perfect work on B&W.
Really a moody shot that reminds back with mind an after war times...
