Great moment, with wonderful composition and excellent choice of using B/W. However, unfortunately, the scratches make the picture look not as good as it should be.

Dear George,
wonderful shot showing the eternal love between a mother an child.
i disagree with Tomi,d scratches are great and make d picture look much better.
Beautiful work, thank u for sharing it dear George!
Wish you a lovely day,
Linda

The most classical and beautiful picture for the most precious subject : splendid composition with the focus on the newborn and just behind the tender look of a mother... And you took this 28 years ago...

I cannot understand why no more success, already 114 views and so few critiques/comments ???
OK it's Sundays, but wake up, folks ! This is a masterpiece ! It won't ever get old, despite the scratches and the grains... Just beautiful as it is !

With admiration,
And to all the Mothers of course, old and young,
Love and Peace,
Cath.

Hello George

Precious moment indeed...not only for the mothers...
For the love of photography, the good photography...I`ll bow too...
Words pale in front of it.

My kind regards

Dear George,

As very rare you say....
I bow !!

An image that opens eyes... hearts....
A true dedication.

Hi J!
You are a week too late, there in North America. On this side of the Atlantic mother's day was last week ;-)
Great photo; happy child, happy mother. And a plus: a beautiful mother (as mothers are supposed to be).
Scratches? Which scratches? I see only timeless love.
Regards,
F

Very special image to celebrate such a special day. I like the scratches. Not to agree or disagree, just because they add to story the photo is communicating. Without them it would be a totally different story... not sure if it would be this compelling.
Cheers,
E

So a beautiful and sweet photo, George...! So a wonderful moment for a woman. And about the scratches: oh, if I love them! My first child was born 29 years ago. And the scratches...yes...on my face and in my soul. But this is the life. Bravo George! Anna Paola

Here in Spain we celebrate this day the first sunday of may, not the second, and you know what? I was really born the mother´s day of 1967... It´s a coincidence that I like. I dont think I have to say something about this photo, in fact, your photos have the value to make me feel more than think... So, thanks George.

George,
I would remove those scratches, you know that. But this is not mine but yours so they may stay ;-) Last year with Mothers day you posted an all time favorite of mine. And although this one can not compete with that one, it has a certain touch in it which i like. She most be 28 right now, who knows how her life is going right know...
Touching George, very touching.
Regards, Henk

Hi George, a very emotional picture with lots of elements to talk about. The woman, the child the feeding time, their expressions say it all.

Ah, the hospital series bring me out of my silence, of course.

"I bow my head low" to Maternity and to the guy that captured it on film so eloquently.

You are like Renoir, George, one can tell from your art that you revere women; as Renoir, you revere both the sacred and the profane in them.

Love the scratches. ;-)

O dearest mother
The holiest bearer of all that warm milk
That i loved to drown inside
Fragrance of that mild, deep taste
And a glowing silhouette in my dreams
Yours is the softest lullaby
Which still in mind mind that gleams

And those are the ones that turn our world into a hell
Those are the ones who forgot the taste of the milk
Those are the ones who forgot the soft tones of your lullaby
those are the ones that turn our world into a hell

Have mercy upon us

Pieknie zadrapania nadaja temu zdjeciu uniwersalnej patyny.
Pozdrawiam z podziwem. G.

The scratches give it a special beauty and also remind me of the scratches a human heart and soul will inevitably receive during a life...wonderful simplicity and softness, intemporal and tender, I like very much the white frame to enhance this beginning of a new life and story.

Thanks for this hommage to women and life dear George.
Bless you
Michèle
