Photographer’s Note
Hello Trekkies,
To this time I have try to show you Koszalin at its best.
Now I got totally different picture for you.
I have not had the opportunity to visit my home town for about one year. And I was deeply shocked, when I saw THIS THING in the city centre.
Tell me, please: what the *&%# it is??? This "wonder of architecture" has been erected on the place previously occupied by bank and cultic milk bar "Krasula" (in Polish language "Krasula" means - more or less - "good-hearted cow") serving best milk shakes in this part of galaxy.
The left and middle part of current building are very similar to the old one (the left part is almost a copy and I like it), but what is in the right corner??? Gothic? Mauritanian style? I have no any clue. I can only suppose that the architect was drunk or he/she was a complete noob and people in City Council, who accepted this project (straight from Monster Garage) are noobs as well!
Have a nice evening!
Chris

Witaj,

1st possibility: the architect was a foreigner...never tasted zubrowka...and that's the result
2ND: the architect just did what S. Coleridge did when he wrote "Kubla Khan" (Smoked Opium)
that's the result.
IMO opinion? dupka p...ona konstrucja!
pozdrawiam

Hello Chris,
Perhaps the purpose of that architect was to evoke a discussion about architecture in that city ... which you have started here :)
Anyway, I find that despite the white winter sky you managed to show us very well the different and beautiful colours of the façades of these buildings.
Best regards, Paul

A obok taka sympatyczna panienka reklamuje śrubki i wkręty. Dobra ostrość i kolory (niestety). Pozdrawiam

Hello Chris,
Certainly an interesting mix of architecture, no doubt designed to get people talking :-) Seems to have a touch of 'Eastern Promise' about it. Thanks for sharing.

Czesc Kris;)
Tez bym sie zdziwil jakbym zobaczyl takie cudo architektury w moim miescie. Nie mniej jednak bardzo ozywia ulice i swietnie wyglada kolorystycznie. Swietne kolorki a zdjecie troszke w innej tonacji niz te, do ktorych sie u Ciebie przyzwyczailem. Podoba sie!!
Pozdrawiam serdecznie,
Darek

Witaj Chris,
Please excuse me, but I have laugh about this one and your reaction. It looks so "Middle East"!... Maybe not so the base floor... Now serious, I understand your reaction, why didn't they go doing this kind of "naive avant-garde" artwork of discussable taste somewhere else instead of defacing an existing building?
I know that it does help you easing your anger, but sadly that happens every day and everywhere.
Regards, José.

Yes, a sad view. But at the same time: a very interesting picture. Maybe in 100 yers this builing will be treated as a monument of the XXI Century Polish architecture :)

Hi Chris,
rzeczywiscie bardzo zabawne. Trudno to zakwalifikowac.
Na pewno jest to ciekawe zjawisko...
Zreszta dosyc zabawna sprawa bo ta reklama po prtawej reklamuje gwozdzie sruby a do reklamy sluzy zdjecie jakiejs kobiety...
Zastanawiam sie jaki to skrot myslowy? Dlaczego kobieta i narzedzia?
Dlatego biorac pod uwage kontekst zdjecia -nawet nie bede probowal narzekac na "zanieczyszczajace" zdjecie samochody na pierwszym planie :)
Pozdrowienia
M
