Photographer's Note

A fisherman stood on this pallet. I ask him
if I could borrow his pallet for a few
minutes........This is the result.

I have uploaded once a time a vertical
version, so you can see the difference.

I use the open space, to make the picture
nice calmness. In the middle of the
picture you can see a coming wave, it's
no lens error.

About our baby: She gets more and more
the looks(luckily)of her mother and she
gets more and more the creativity of her

A fantastic, dreamlike atmosphere here. The colours and the mist are spectacular and I love the inclusion of the wooden crate. The wide-angle lens has worked wonders here, the distortion is magnificent. Great job!

actually this deserted pallet is something we would try to avoid in such composition,but you were able to create of it an important part of your image.So it seems to be crucial here.Awesome idea and perfect execution.The image is excellently composed and has delightful colors.

you have captured a wonderful atmosphere in this imahe. the colours are beautiful and very attractive. the movement of the waves is superb and creates a superb effect as the water comes onto the sand. the inclusion of the pallet adds further interest. this pallet seems to travel alot and come ashore in many countries as i have met it before myself!!

A lovely seascape, the out of place pallet has made a fantastic lead in as well as, an excellent foreground interest. Fine exposure, good clarity and some wonderful colors the sky area with good touch of golden tone, this i feel gives the added value to this image. and yes, as usual i love your photo.
You do an excellent job in paying close attention to the small details.
for example, placing the horizon line at the 1/3 level and hot at the 50% level.
the sky is amazingly colorful, and the light seems to be striking the pallet in just all the right places.

Hi Robert,

A brilliant shot. The positioning of the pallet is excellent. I really enjoy the way it is pointing towards the left bottom corner. Great use of the shutter speed. While the clouds in the background still are sharp the movement of the water gives it a silky look. Almost like ice. Also great with the horizon at one third. TFS and have fine week!

Hello again Robert,

Great use of the ND gradient filter here to captured the intense color of the sunset, the cloud and the rich color really provide a dramatic mood, the foreground of the wave and itde is soft and smooth in texture, and well exposed. The wooden plank with warm color matched well with the color of the sky, and therefore worked out well. Otherwise, I would rather not include the wooden plank and keep it simple and make it all natural without any man made elements.

Hello Robert,

I'm glad you've borrowed it. Combined with the delicacy of the colors and the frozen water effect due to long exposure, the texture an the pattern of the palette complement and contrast with the seashore. The wide angle and resulting distorsion adds some dynamics to your composition.

Definitely not something used as a common subject, but you've done a masterful job making it work! :) Very ingenious to utilize an object like that and have this kind of result. The light played from the pallet is what makes it a viable element, and the texture is a nice contrast to the smooth water surface from the long exposure. I really like the unique quality of this image, the style is undoubtedly yours, but the creative visualization takes it up another level. Great shot. Have a great day.
