...the same beach as on the previous photo, only now it started raining, the beach became almost immediately deserted, only this small kid continued playing as if it was a perfect day...
Dzwirzyno is a little town situation on the Baltic seashore on one side and with a lake on another. It is an excellent holiday destination for those who love to relax on the beach, while at the same time offering abundant possibilities of other forms of recreation. Since the 1970s it has boasted the status of a spa town, which together with a robust tourist base, draws flocks of visitors dreaming of sun, white sand and fresh air.
I can only recommend this place with hard-to-pronounce name for all those who feel a strange longing for Baltic strange seashore sights, lonely beaches, pines and sand dunes, towering old lighthouses and little villages, where you can get baked fish cheaper than a hotdog.
Dzwirzyno belongs to the Western Pomeranian Voivodship, covering the north-eastern corner of Poland. This village lies on the Baltic Sea shore as well as that of Lake Resko Przymorskie, the latter linked with the open sea by a canal. What is interesting is that back in mediaeval times there was no connection between the lake and the sea until the 15th century when the land dividing it was broken by a storm on the sea.
Dzwirzyno is located some 13 km west of Kolobrzeg, and is one of the main urban centres of the area.

Very fine shot. Original, but minimalistic work. Perfect contrast and sharpness. Ideal frame.

This is very good, nice how you introduce a deliberate disbalance in this composition, so much empty space below and a quite busy upper part with the kid cleverly placed between the poles...

splendida composizione in un eccellente bn, grande dinamismo dato dagli uccelli in volo e superbo grafismo.

oh gosh what a frame..youve seen this well..i dont mind the empty foreground, really essential part of the composition given the proportions and the elements above..on another day in another frame that would have been annoying..
i dunno how you would construct a frame with some isolation on the child..that would be challenging..
But with the gulls and the fenceline..
Great Shot Ivana

Fantastic POV, I like this composition full with poetry.
The child is marvelously placed, the birds fly in a light out of focus, the B/W at the same time is soft and contrasted.
A really vgreat photo.

The conditions may have been gloomy but you have created a really interesting and atmospheric shot out of them. The line of dark posts stand out well among the grey tones of the beach and the child is perfectlz placed to add interest. A well seen composition.

Ivana, I have a huge weakness for B&W images of the seaside. The composition and timing here are peerless. You have used the wide angle expertly to hold interest in teh foreground and background. And the birds flying above the boy? Couldn't be better. My first favourite in my new life here.
