The belfry
Parish Church of St James the Apostle
The fist mention of the parish church in Wagrowiec comes from1381. In the 16th century, a brick construction in late-Gothic style with early-Renaissance gables replaced the wooden temple.
Valuable equipment of the church includes nine altars and the reredos of the tenth. The oldst, late-Renaissance altar comes from the 16th century. Wall paintings in the Rosary Chapel originated at the same time. An underpinned wooden belfry adjacent to the church was built in 1847. In 2004 the wooden part of the building was renovated, and the bell, which had served the church for centuries, replaced.
