Leaving the Czech Republic (for a moment)and today I'm starting new serie called "...no sensation to compare..." (taken from Pink Floyd's "Learning to fly").

Last weekend I decided to visit my hometown's region -part of Beskidy Mountains in the vicinity of Bielsko-Biala. One of the most picturesque places of this area is Zar peak (I think, I can translate it as "Glow peak"), 712 m above sea level, hovering above Zywieckie Lake and Porabka dam.

There is gliders' and paragliders' school just below the Zar peak. It is well known as a place of good flying conditions.

This young aviator is just waiting for radio signal secured on his helmet. He is ready for a run down the peak and to bounce... But this day seemed to be windless...

Hi Mat,

Serwus Mat,
(BTW which language is Serwus from ?)
I like the POV very much as I was myself last week in such a school of paraglider. I like very much the expression of the man and the nice landscape without sky.
David

A beautiful landscape shot looking towards the river and beyond. I love the inclusion of the young man waiting to fly. It makes a simple landscape more meaningful.

I like the point of view of this shot. The camera behind the young man, sharing his view down the valley really pulls the viewer into the scene and makes me feel like I'm part of it. This photo seems to have great depth, as you see the valley unfolding in the distance. Great work!

Bonjour Mat,
Avec cette photo, on partage la vue de ce parapentiste (!), en se disant : "il vaut mieux pour lui que pour moi".
La photo rend bien la dénivellation, pente et profondeur de la vallée.
Excellent POV.
Amicalement.
Daniel.

Hello Mat,

this boy wait after the wind. It's one of the constraints of this sport but that permit to you take a very good shot. good angle and colours.
have a good day

Hi Mat, I like the PoV of this very deep almost vertigo inducing perspective. The scene is waiting to come alive - the scene looks tranquile but the pre-flight tension is felt. Good job!
(back2morrow)
Regards from Rotterdam, Bert.

Very good composition with an excellent DOF. Excellent note to describe the feelings of the aviator.
