Photographer's Note

Felis catus, Felis silvestris catus
domestic cat
chat domestique
Hauskatze, Domestizierte Katze

This species described in 1758, Karl Linnaeus, who believed, however, striped beet variety as a form virtually identical to the European Wildcat. Most likely, however, the domestic cat is derived from the Nubian cats, although this issue has not been definitively resolved. Some believe that cats domesticated przekrzyżowały to a certain degree of Chaus, European Wildcat, and even the manul. Some researchers believe that the domestic cat, European wild cat and the cat is a Nubian subspecies of one species, Felis silvestris (respectively: F. s. catus, F. silvestris, F. s. s. libyca).
