Coal story - Loading Photo

Photographer’s Note

One day I met this man, his horses and his cart in the main street of Bytom. I didn't know who he is. So I've done my private investigation and this series of photos is the result.
His name is Sylwester Jagla and he transports coal from Bobrek coal mine with his horses and his cart. He is the only man in Bytom who carries coal using horses.

This is the first photo - loading. I decided to show you rather long series. I presume Mr. Jagla and his friends deserve it.

seems like it is going to be a charming series... i ll be following it for sure... this is a good beginning i think, the contrast looks perfect especially on the horse, and the coals add dynamism to the compo... a timeless beauty for sure, my compliments jan...

Un très bon cliché. Le noir et blanc lui va bien et on a du mal à imaginer que certains n'ont pas la vie facile à notre époque.

this is a very interesting pic
black+white choice emphasizes the hard work of this person and his being a "all together" with his environment.
On Tuesday I drove from Czech Border to Krakow and passed through Katowice and dolno slaskie...I saw plenty of old mines....

Sentymentalny obraz.
Male miasteczko. Dziadzius wola: - "Chodz do pomocy". Usmarowany weglem, szczesliwy pilem pozniej oranzade. Smakowal mi wtedy tak bardzo, ze do dzis pamietam ten landrynkowy posmak.
Nie ma juz Dziadka, nie ma juz oranzady, dobrze ze jest wegiel.
Dobrze, zes to zachowal.

Czolem Janek!
Kto pamieta, kto czytal opowiadanie Gustawa Morcinka "Lysek z pokladu Idy", ten rozczuli sie przy tym zdjeciu. Tak jak ja sie wlasnie rozczulam i rozmaslam.

"Kuñ jaki jest ka¿dy widzi"! Tu mamy i element ludzki i element "kuñski". Ale ka¿dy ma jakie¶ priorytety. Jasmin preferuje human element a ja dokumentowanie miasta.

Scena wysmienita, jak z moich dawnych wspomnien, albo jak z filmu jakiego...Szkoda, ze tony nie sa bardziej zroznicowane, ale podoba mi sie wybor sepi.

wśród tysięcy zdjęć...jest takie jedno, jedno wielkie, jedno, gdzie czoło pochylone i tak jest za wysoko...gdzie ludzki los (nie p... okna, nie balkoniki, nie cegły czerwone czy inne, nie kolejne ujęcie zrujnowanego budynku) jest sednem, gdzie człowiek zależy...na przykład od konia, jego jedynego dobytku, bez ceny, bez ideologii, bez innych takich tam....
takie zdjęcia jak to są na miarę dziesiątków lat... trzymaj je wysoko, janek!

To jak podróż w czasie. I taki wóz z kuńmi porusza sie po głównej ulicy Bytomia? Świetne zdjęcie. Przypomina mi się Łysek z pokładu Idy, taka lektura, ale słabo pamiętam o czym było. Ładnie się ten węgiel sypie. Pozdrawiam
