Photographers Note
Hard to say something about this place really. It used to be a part of an old steel works. It is supposed to be abandoned, put on hold, without any signs of "life". It doesn not seem to be the case, in reality. Wish I knew why.

I love your latest sepia series from Bytom, Jerzy. There is something apocalyptic but still so optimistic in them. If you haven't seen "Stalker" by Tarkovsky, you might want to do it now, the atmosphere and esthetics in this film is precisely the same, I see this image as a scene from there! And tell me about your impressions afterwards:)
Cheers

A wonderfully atmospheric image Jerzy, and the high contrast has really brought out the texture in the rusty ironwork and the brick walls.
A great use of the wide-angle to give the rusty old tap such a prominent position in the foreground; it gives a great sense of depth to the image.
Excellent work.

Hi Jerzy,
this image lives from the atmosphere. The patina of these old buildings, the puddles from the rain, the special lightning ... and the guy between the buildings at the end of the way ... give the image a lot of charme.
I like it very much,
Nino

Witaj J.

As powerful, as any other of your sepia images.
And it is as live as can be. Just to think about: That vapor of steam from the valve - that is the most powerful sign of living you can imagine.
Abandoned factories?
By the people - Yes!
The spirits live there forever.

Fantatsic work Jerzy. Such atmosphere and mood, such powerful feeling. And the tiny person, though tiny in stature, seems so huge in presence.

Hi Jerzy. Fine post-work to enhance the mood and impact of what I assume was already an impressive out-of-camera original photo. I like the harsh contrasts and the way in which the smoke/haze filters the light. Very good to have a human silhouette walking by at the end of the corridor in the back.

Finland has just scored the third goal. What's happening?
I like this. For me, the single tiny person, engulfed by that strong highlight makes all the difference in this photo. Its incredible how these little details can do so much for a photo. I also like your contrast boost, the smoke, the water valve. All this dereliction is amazing. I really love these abandoned places. Your composition is very good. Separating the two walls with that highlighted stripe was a clever choice. Love the tilt, the supporting poles and the water in the floor. It is really a great photograph my friend.

Cześć,
gdzie Ciebie nosi? Miejsca, w których nie ma nic ciekawego ale w takim wydaniu stają się interesujące. Fajna ta sepia, nadaje klimat starości. Dobra robota.

Almost an apocalyptic scene, reminds me of 1984,of a Stalinisque land, but, as you remind us, this was the lifeline for a long time here.

Another masterpiece. Sepia gives the right impression of desolation, the large aperture (blurring the BG) yields the perfect DOF and the composition is perfectly done. Kudos!

Hi Jerzy, this is masterful. The texture is... well, I can smell, touch and taste that awful slime around the piping. Excellent use of high key contrast and to have that single figure at the end of the alleyway shows fine attention to detail. And a Goldilocks quality to the toning - not too hard, not too soft, just right. A+. Stephen

Hi Jerzy.
It could be a bite overexposed, but I think that works well.
Also the almost black and white work is good.

Hello Jerzy,
A stunning picture of a seemingly abandoned place. you are really a master for these depressive pictures, which show us that every part of this world is not what we think it is. What amazes me is that it seems as if you try to find them and they don't come just like this, or perhaps I am wrong, they are everywhere and you see with different eyes.
A big smile - Izzet

Hi Jerzy, an atmosphere that I like a lot, apocalyptic with this touch of life which is essential in this shot I think, well done Jerzy, a nice one... Very good to have this hudge element on the left...

This is a nice, gritty, industrial and urban image that really strikes a good note in me. The inclusion of the figure in the distance is inspired and works perfectly. The detail and dirt around the old wheel is well captured too. A great, gritty image.

Hello Jerzy,
Great street scene again with the man so narrow back there and this old and dirty steamstation in enhancement in front. Great light management and atmosphere, nice textures on the right wall, and excellent strong contrasts (just as I like them on this kind of photos) giving the photo the excat strenght it needs.
Regards.
