Photographer’s Note

Lighthouse of Czołpino, design by E. Kummer, builted 1869-1872. Czołpino Lighthouse is situated between villages Łeba and Rowy, within the Słowinski National Park. It is about 1 km away from the coast, between Lakes Gardno and Łebsko, and is located on a high dune. The keeper's residential quarters and outhouses are at the foot of the dune, on the landward side. Unfortunately, for the time being they are unoccupied, and the lighthouse keeper lives in a village 10 km away from the lighthouse. Czołpino Lighthouse is a construction in the shape of a truncated cone in red brick-work with an outer facing. At its base the tower has a diameter of 7 m, and its lantern height is 25.2 m. This lighthouse survived the Second World War intact. When wartime hostilities were over, it was in operation already by 7th December 1945 and has been working ever since. In 2000 the Słupsk Division of the Maritime Authority, responsible since 1999 for Czołpino Lighthouse, modernised its light source and installed an automatic monitoring system in the keeper's house. Since that time the moment anything goes wrong at the lighthouse the keeper is informed of it, even when he's off duty at home.

you have take this shot beautifully. The vertical framing acts well and the tower is nice. Sharpness and depth so well that we count the bricks of the lighthouse. Great colours. The lighthouse is surrounded by nice greeneries and a nice piece of blue sky at the top. Well seen and captured. Tfs.

Hello Mikolaj, I have spent several days on the here in Australia, I saw several lighthouses but all were white, this seems a little unusual for me. I like the warm colours & contrast here, well framed, sharp & interesting.

In a simple, but elegant composition, you accentuate the verticality of the light house, and indeed a vertical format is the best way to do it. The colors are vivid, but what I especially like is the high definition, where each of the bricks can be counted.

The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view from the bottom to the top is giving perspective to the composition. It is also showing the details and colors of the architecture of the lighthouse. The trees are framing well the lighthouse. The afternoon light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

This is a fine shot of this imposing lighthouse. The low POV works well giving us a nice upward view of the tower. The trees frame the shot beautifully. The lighting and colors are fine as is the photo's sharpness.

des lumières royales avec un bleu même, impérial. Des couleurs saturées, peut-être un peu trop, mais cela fait partie du charme du résultat. Un POV et un cadrage qui conviennent et des personnages la haut qui donnent les échelles.
