Photographer’s Note

Two weeks ago there was a big front rushing from the west, you can see it HERE.
I took this panorama and ran with the camera to get into the event centre ;). And what I saw - a big twister tried to form just above my estate... Lucky it last only about half a minute and dissapeared and next started to rain very heavily, so I broke a record of running with a camera :D.

A really impressive capture of those large and very dark clouds. A very spectacular view and the contrast is emphasised by the lighter clouds in the background. The vertical composition works very well too. Thanks for sharing!

Czo³em Henryku.

"O w mordê!" pomy¶la³em sobie, gdy zobaczy³em miniaturkê Twojego zdjêcia. Po obejrzeniu w normalnej wielko¶ci nadal nie mogê wyj¶æ z podziwu. To siê nazywa dramatyzm! Wgniata w ziemiê! Dobrze, ¿e twister nie rozkrêci³ siê na dobre.

Ponoæ na Pomorzu widoki jak z Twojej fotki s± coraz czêstsze. Kilka dni temu s³ysza³em w radiu, ¿e z brzegu morza w Ustce mo¿na by³o obserwowaæ tr±by na morzu .... chyba zgubi³em w±tek:) Gratulacje i dziêki za podzielenie siê tym zdjêciem z nami.

A new post! At last! You could have posted the picture in the link first, the superwide view with those storm front clouds & the birds scurrying home. But this is excellent, the twister is like a vortex without the tail of the funnel. I didn't know such tornadoes form in Europe as well! Amazing capture!

Mia³em podobne przej¶cia którego¶ lata nad ba³tykiem (to chyba by³o w Rowach). Na pó³nocnym wschodzie, daleko nad morzem pojawi³y siê trzy czarne jele i szybko zbli¿a³y siê w stronê pla¿y po dziesiêciu minutach plaza by³a pusta. Pozosta³o kilka osób w tym ja robiacy zdjêcia. leje dotar³y w okolice brzegu, zakot³owa³o sie przez moment i nagle znikne³y. Najciekawsze by³o to, ¿e nie by³o najmniejszej chmurki na niebie. Leje by³y uformowane z wody wyssanej z ba³tyku. Cze¶æ z niej spad³a na g³owy tych, którzy pozostali na pla¿y. Tutaj natomiast wyobra¿am sobie Ciebie zmykajacego przed wielka tr±b±. Z tym nie ma zartów. Zgadzam siê z Jankiem: zdjecie mocne i dla nas wszystkich ku przestrodze...

Jeeez, this does not look well at all. Especially when I realize this is in Europe...though pretty far (over 600 km air distance) from where I live. Hats off to you for your courage of running out to capture this monster. Your composition, though surely done in a rush is very good and shows - in a nasty way - the power of nature. Luckily, we (in Europe) don´t build houses from paper like they do in the US...

Faktycznie to trzeba miec szczescie zobaczyc taka trabe i ja uwiecznic, no i drugie szczescie to to, ze nikomu ona szkody nie narobila. Ciekawe i unikatowe zdjecie.

Uau...impressive moment you got here. The clouds are overwhelming.
The exposure was correct. Although there are burnt parts over the buildings, you had to preserve detail in the clouds...that was the point of interest.

it's truly impressive, powerful, it does look like the twist is going to uproot the 'little' houses - an intense moment, no doubt.
I like much the natural colors, the somber atmosphere, just excellent the texture of the whirling cloud - very, very well done, sooo realistic.

P.S.
This brings to my mind a documentary film that I saw last year if I remember well, about some American tornadoes hunters: they were informing themselves about the locations of possible tornadoes and then they were getting as close as possible to the phenomenon - very interesting.

fantastyczne ujecie, bravo za szybkosc i zdecydowanie. Widzialem co taki twist nawyprawial ostatnio pod Opolem, po prostu masakra.
Fotka robi naprawde ogromne wrazenie.
