Photographer's Note
As i was going through my own gallery of photos on TE from Poland, I was very surprised to see that I have posted only 6 photo's from Gdansk.
I'm going to make sure I change that this week. Gdansk is such a beautiful and photogenic city, very popular with tourists and having now been there its easy to see why.
Here we have a view of Gdansk's old city centre from the outside looking in. The red brick wall in the fg is barely standing anymore, its clearly clinging to life, and in the bg are the city buildings and churches. I find its a real rustic type of view, certainly nothing new or modern here, but beautiful for sure.
This is another HDR version, hope you enjoy it
Cheers

Hello Craig,
You are really whetting my appetite with these pictures form Poland, a country I have never visited. There is certainly a fine array of architecture to be admired here. I like the framing offered by the river with its glistening ripples. Very well presented under a dull but sympathetic ambient light.

Ciao Craig
Ciao e buona giornata
Romano

Hi Craig,
I'm in complete agreement with Stephen (snunney), your photos of Gdansk and Poland in general, have really put it on my radar for places to visit! I can only imagine how much ambiance and charm there must be to roam these old quarters, not to mention the photo possibilities! That solid green building in the middle of the frame, for its small size, is sure eye catching with this composition. Great arrangement and atmosphere with the naturally filtered light, the slightly darkened clouds set a good tone for the scene. Another great shot.
Cheers,
Jason

Bonjour Craig
J'aime beaucoup la texture que tu as su donner à cette image. Le HDR va chercher quelque chose de spécial dans la brique des maisons. Le paysage urbain est magnifique.

Hi Craig
stunning shot this, despite the cloudy skies this place looks so impressive and beautiful. The HDR has brought out all the colours and hidden detailing superbly and the mix of greens and reds are just so attractive and beautiful. It is a quality image of a fascinating old town. Wonderful stuff!

Hello Craig.
Fabulous composition, with many elements in the picture, that make it so rich in content and beautiful buildings, stunning POV that includes the remains of walls, the charming facades and the slender churches, dominating the whole.
A splendid work, good management of light and sharpness. I love
All the best.
Luis.
P/D. I already ... what you like best, is modern architecture, but I suggest you look the picture I uploaded today, a beautiful piece of Gothic architecture very little known.

Hi Craig,
interesting view from Gdansk. Unusual scenery because on FG one can see ruins after the World War II. Fine quality of photo after the HDR pp.
Have a nice evening.

Hi Craig,
Beautiful post from Gdansk! The city looks quite unusual with these old walls in the foreground. I much more prefer the background with the high towers and colorful buildings. Anyway, it's a nice shot!

Hi Craig
Wow, I recognize the scene. The sky was not the best when you was there either, I can see. The same when I was there - very unstable weather. I stood at exactly the same spot as you, and it`s truly a nice view, with these fascinating old ruins in the foreground. I start to wonder how a blue hour shot from this spot would have been - yeah, maybe next time. Fine work:) TFS.

Hello Craig,
I'm loving all the great architecture in your Czech Republic and Poland photos. The brick walls in this shot are great, and the green facade in the center really jumps out. Nice view with the water and greenery in the foreground. BTW, you received another dedication today. Check it out in the Netherlands section. :-)

Hi Craig, original POV here, I do not remember these city walls. Indeed, it is rustic view, a bit way of the beaten track. Nice view2 of St. May toewer and spires. I like this shot very much.

Hello Craig,
I've visited Gdańsk but I cannot remember this sight :(
Here you show us a real particular view of the old town.
I love the variety of colours on this picture and the way the beautiful buildings and churches rise up behind the remnants of the buildings along the waterfront.

Hi Craig,
Gdansk is one beautiful city in Poland, both on modern part and the old town.
Counted here at least 14 diff. turrets, fabulous view even with the wild vegetation on the bank, and some ruins not yet renovated.
Spotted well, and taken from water side's.
Best regards,
Ike

Are you still in Newfoundland? I hope you're ok. This architecture really reminds me of the architecture of Edinburgh (except of course for the water). Superb Rule of Thirds framing and you did really well with the overcast conditions.
Thanks for sharing, have a great day

Craig,
Gdansk is a very beautiful town in Poland but not many foreigners put it on their trip schedule. I am glad that you visited this place, even if the only outcome was this excellent photo. Great panorama shot from very good POV. Nice colors and contrast.
Well done

Hi Craig,
What a sight this is! So many fascinating fascets of architectural wonder all in such a small place. The ruined walls look fantastic next to the small colourful buildings, and the many spires poking up create another great element to the shot too. This is a wonderful shot, and the type that makes me want to board a plane and head straight here!
The greenery leading to the water is an excellent addition too.
All the best
