Photographers Note
There's an exhibition in front of the shipyard commemorating the events of the 4th of June 1989, only a few interested people due to the long weekend in Poland.
Gdańsk Shipyard (Stocznia Gdańska) is a large Polish shipyard, located in the city of Gdańsk. The yard gained international fame when Solidarity (Solidarność) was founded there in September 1980. It is situated on the left side of Martwa Wisła and on Ostrów Island.
What's more...
And something more according to Wikipedia:
Over 60 years, Stocznia Gdańska has delivered more than 1000 seagoing ships to owners all over the world. In recent years, the top deliveries have been container ships, reefers, bulk carriers and passenger ro-ro ferries. Most ships are designed in their own design office. Gdansk shipyards have fallen on hard times. Once a place of work for over 20,000 people, the Gdansk shipyards provide only 3,000 jobs today. Design and construction of ships has remained the main activity of the yard. Work for the offshore industry began in the 21st century.
Remontowa S.A. owns 7 floating docks which can accommodate vessels up to 290m in length and approximately 135 000 dwt. Gdańska Stocznia is the leader of the Remontowa group, which also includes Northern Shipyard and smaller companies. Remontowa SA is one of the largest companies in Poland and was listed in the top three largest ship repair yards in Europe and the top five in the world by specialist magazine Drydock.

Hi Gosia,
I have to say that this picture cought my interest.
I do like the composition and good idea of desaturation. Only the think I would chenge is the colour of the grean leaves I think you should desaturate it all except the poster. Nice work!
Kind Regards Jiri

rozumiem zamysl tej czesciowej desaturacji, ale chyba nie bylo potrzeby takiej zabawy - obraz jest klarowny, pamiec dla potomnych pozostanie uwieczniona, wazne zdjecie...

Hello Gosia,
I am not such a fan of partial colouring or decolouring of photos but this is a wonderful example as it adds to the message of thsi photo : the historical role of solidarnosc. Well composed too with the play of light and shadows well managed.
Regards,
Paul

Czesc Gosiu,
Widze, ze eksperymentujesz z saturacja- i dobrze, bo fotografia sztuka jest...
Podoba mi sie kompozycja i miejsce, w ktorym umiescilas tych ogladajacych. Co do tresci- hm... "ale to juz bylo..." jak Marylka spiewala.
Pozdrawiam,
D.

Witaj,
